We got a great deal on AP's last year with the Fan Club Card (about $425.00 for 4 with free self-parking) and I'm wondering how much renewals are. Anybody out there know? TIA

I just renewed mine for $99 a a few weeks, but the $99 deal was suppose to be a limited time only but my Brother renewed his on the 14th and he only paid $99. So I'll say it's still $99.

When annual passes are renewed does the 2nd year start as soon as the first year ends or when it is used for the first time?

Well when you renew it, it starts that day, so if your pass expires today and you got next week to renew it, it starts next week when you renew it.

Your current pass is good until and including the day it expires.
You can go and purchase a renewal voucher ahead of time (before your pass expires). The voucher is then not activated until YOU activate it. You would have to use it to gain entry to the park, then have your picture taken etc. that day. That will be the first day of your pass and it will be good for one year from that day.

So, the new "year" doesn't begin until you actually WANT it to begin, so long as you have purchased a voucher. You can stock up if you want, so you can "renew" at that rate for many years!

I buy the vouchers also, rather than renew. That way the price is still the same (well it was when I got them), but we actually get several months more out of them.

How do you figure? 12 months is 12 months unless I am reading this wrong "we actually get several months more out of them."

I think Muushka means that she got the vouchers and then didn't activate them until months later. That way, the clock started ticking a few months after the original AP expired. I did that on my last AP renewal.

Vouchers are foreign to me, I was going to let my annual pass expire and buy a new one in April, but I couldn't be away from Universal that long so a week later I was in withdraws and renewed it.

I'm confused. Let's say that I had an annual pass that expired today. I renewed it, but my next visit to the park wasn't until May 1st. Does the second year start tomorrow or on May 1st?

If you went to Guest Services and renewed it tomorrow it will start tomorrow, if you get the voucher you could go in May and get your Annual Pass and it will start then.

Universal thankfully doesn't do anniversary dates on their passes. Like NWO said it will be valid from May 1.

Thanks! That's good to know. I might have kept my annual pass to WDW, but they changed their policy and the renewal started the day after the old pass expired even if it was months before a return visit.

Yup, they sure did!

Just what you want when you're spending close to $500 for an annual pass.....wasted time!

Thanks everyone for all of the info. One more Q? Do I have to be present in person to buy the renewal vouchers or can it be done by mail?
