So how much Alcohol do you haul to FW.

Oh boy! It's another camping drunks thread. This should take off.

Well, last time I packed a box (yes, a box) of Sangria, a very large bottle of Captain (some for my diet coke, some for the Kungaloosh), Kungaloosh fixings, beer. Then some friends came by before we left and gave us a box (yep, another box) of chardonnay and a bottle of Jack.

I know I'm an oddball here, but we don't drink very often. We seldom bring any alcohol while we are camping unless we are having friends come visit for a BBQ and then maybe we will get a 6 pk of beer or a small pack of wine coolers.

You all have talked about kungaloosh so much though that I am going to bring my blender and make some when we go camping for Memorial Day weekend. A couple of my friends are going to bring their families out and spend a day with us and they like to drink so it will be a good time to try it :thumbsup2

Easy Rog, TheFlame is obviously new to the area and doesn't understand this tight nit group.

TheFlame, if you read the post in this thread you will see many of the posters are friends and have at one time or another met at FW. There are even a few here who are related. Most of the :offtopic: stuff is all tongue in cheek stuff and just for the fun of it. A good many of these same people will do everything possible to answer your questions and help you with advice, but may do it in a little unconventional way. :rolleyes1 They even have the moderator, ah, baffled? There are no safe posts in this area, any and all topics can, and will, be hijacked, but all in fun.

So, TheFlame, surf around and read the various topics throughout the area and I think you'll want to join in.

Back on subject, I voted none since I haven't had an adult beverage since my early 20's boy, that was a long time ago. But, I will defend anyone's right to do so as long as they don't drink and drive.

Boy this will sound bad, but we bring 10 cases of beer 2 bottles of rum and 2 bottles of vodka. With beer at $18 a 6 pack at the fort you never have enough.

After reading all this I need a drink.:lmao:

In all my trips to the fort I've never seen anyone smashed or out of control from drinking. I think a lot of people who camp enjoy bringing a few adult beverages on their trip. It's somebody like this that blows the fun for everyone. It's none of your business to tell anyone how their relationship with god should be period. This is the reason I don't belong to a church. People go on Sunday and judge me on Monday. If god feels that he should punish these people for being drunkards how bout letting him deal with it.

Gotta side with TheFlame on this one.
My wife and I read this forum alot to get advice, and we appreciate all of your chatter. It is funny, though, how alcohol always becomes part of the conversation.
We don't drink, mostly because we don't like the taste and because we need all of the brain cells we have! But we also don't drink because we want to set a good example for our 3 kids.
Most people who go to church are like everyone else - trying to do good but falling because we are human. That isn't a reason to stay away from church - it's a reason to keep going to try and improve.
God's "punishment" is usually realized through pain in our lives caused by us ignoring Him. This "punishment" often, hopefully, draws us closer to Him. Unfortunately, when alcohol is involved, the hardships might include addictiveness, car accidents, marital problems, loss of jobs, etc.
Of course, none of that will happen to any of us fine dis'ers, and we don't know of anyone that has had alcohol related problems! ;)
That's my two cents.
Have a good day! :)

Listen up people ,, THIS IS A DISNEY CAMPING SITE !!! IT'S A SITE ABOUT CAMPING !!! That being said , up at the Forts front desk they told me you could buy alcohol at all parks cept MK. , all the resorts and at Downtown Disney. Oh,and when we camp , I bring just enough ....Mr.:goofy:

Reminder -- it's ok to express your opinion (and everyone is entitled to them), but personal attacks are NOT ALLOWED here on the Camping Board and will cause the poster to incur points, possibly getting banned. Remember, this is FUN! :goodvibes

Jeeez....have a beer and pray with us!!!!

LOL!!! I guess everyone has there own opinion, everyone one is different. If you drink enjoy it, if you don't well enjoy that too. I would never tell anyone that this is bad or that is bad. Enjoy life it comes once

Part of my new life i'm staying out of this, but if you need a beer see you over July 4 weekend.

:sad2: My, my, my.

Well, opinions be as they may. Simply because a person partakes of an alcoholic beverage or two, does not make them an alcoholic, which is quite a different thing than being a social drinker. Even those of us who do drink, still set a good example for our children. We drink responsibley, and would NEVER attempt to get into a car. I would never get sloshed in front of my children (I'd never get sloshed-period, for that matter). I do enjoy that easy feeling that comes from having a drink with friends. If you'll recall my OT cancer free thread, we explored all sorts of ways Jesus enjoyed alcohol as stated in the Bible. Church on Sunday, drunk on Monday is just the kind of rediculous sentiment that keeps good people like Stacktester out of church! IMO, judging people in that way is a heck of a lot worse than drinking! Jesus said, "let my People come!" As a Christian, isn't it your job to welcome and mission to others? It is definitely NOT your job to cast stones!

WHo is this flame you speak of?

One of the great things about camping is you can kick back and relax. No one has to drive "home". I seldom drink at home and when my husband and I go out for the evening I'm usually the designated driver--so no drinks for me then either. There is just something about grilling some burgers and drinking a cold one. Or walking over to your neighbors site and sharing an adult beverages. I bet you won't find ANYONE in the hotels knocking on their neighbors door and offering them a drink and some laughs. That is what camping is about.
