its my favourite time of year and i am stocking up with all sorts of alcoholic beverages :dancer: :drinking1 i tend to buy lots of variety ranging from beer to cocktails,i have a full house on 25th and 26th of december plus people are always dropping in to have a christmas drink to be sociable  yeah right.the :hmghost: wife thinks i spend too much on alcohol and i should cut it down(she did not mean in the pub pheew  )she means at home,i rarely drink much during the week as my buisness dictates that, but i give myself 10 days off at xmas and give it the large one :woohoo: so to sum up i spend around £650 each year is this too much or is she a unreasonable :maleficen i don't drink it all all though i maybe the main culprit.how much do you spend

We usualy get a few bottles of Malibu, a couple bottles of cinzano, some Asti, Blu bols and some beers. Thats for Myself, DH, Mil and FIl. We also have wine too. I think most people go over board at christmas :)

Contrary to popular belief, I actually don't drink at home. We always buy a few bottles of Asti Martini for Christmas dinner, I'll get some Bacardi Breezers in and some cans of lager, but other than that, I prefer to drink when I go out, and I know that I've got a bottle of Bailey's in my cupboard that hasn't been opened yet :thumbsup2

We have a transit van for this time of year!

Hi we usually just have 5 bottles of champagne, and a couple of bottles of wine for when my sister is over. I love champagne so would rather have a few bottle of it than tons of wine..

Hi

We dont spend much these days since I started working at the hospital. I am off xmas eve and xmas day this yr so I think we might buy more this yr. :teeth: My dh always has his couple of crates of beer and I normally have a bottle of baileys. This yr will def extend the alcohol shopping trip :goodvibes

I don't tend to buy any because :cheer2: It's my Birthday!! :cheer2:
on Christmas Eve and everyone buys it for me.

Unfortunately it means I have an epic hangover on Christmas Day and this year I'll be up to my knees in horse muck by eight in the morning because it's my turn to feed!!

We don't buy any alcohol for ourselves at Christmas as we keep a decent store of wine and spirits with a few bottles of champagne anyway. But like Mandy, apart from the odd glass of champagne or wine, we rarely drink at home - unless we are entertaining.

So for Christmas, we only buy for our annual drinks party - about £100.

I buy a case of decent champagne as that's my fave drink and a case of cheap fizz as we have a tradition of making a different champagne-based Christmas Cocktail each year. We've already bought the wine as we had an opportunity to buy some tasty tipple at a dinner we went to. Most of it's supposed to be gifts for DH's colleagues but there's a case or two left... :thumbsup2

We usually keep wine and chmpage in the house during the year anyway. We do tend to buy a few more bottles of champage and some extra alcohol for the visitors :)

We go to my dads and stay over night and we go through loads we all buy a crate each and a couple of bottles of wine and a nice cava boxing day is usually a wash out with nobody dressed before 3pm so yeah we buy quite a lot (all put together) but i would agree with your wife £650 is a bit too much.

Buy no more than we would usually do. To be honest most Christmases we used to work so left little time for drinking.

Claire ;)

I don't think we spend quite that much...perhaps if you take the zero off the end it would be more realistic for us! We tend to buy a few nice bottles of wine for meals and evening drinks, and if we have a drinks party (always dependent on work shifts) we will buy more wine and beer and thats about it. We don't really drink at home, unless with a meal anyway, and we don't drink spirits. I do enjoy cocktails but only in the appropriate climate!!!

It depends on how many people you mean by a full house!

We dont tend to buy much alcohol throughout the year as we tend to go over the Calais once or twice a year and stock up then - we went just a few weeks ago.

We usually have a full house on xmas day, 14 Adults so we do spend quite a bit over Christmas Day, Boxing Day and NYE when we tend to have even more people round.

I don't spend much at all on alcohol for in the house, usually I have a bottle of Lanson black label for xmas day dinner, and probably one or two bottles of red wine to keep on standby, and a bottle of Gin, I find I spend more on going out than staying in

Nothing! My mum usually buys me a bottle of something like Archers or Jack Daniels as a mixer and i'll have champagne on Christmas day but I very rarely drink over the year anyway as I don't like alcohol THAT much so don't feel the need to go over the top at Christmas. Food on the other hand..! ;)

We usually get 6 bottles of our favourite wine, a bottle or 2 of Asti for Christmas Day and Boxing Day, a bottle of Harvey's Bristol Cream and a case of beer. Don't really drink that much, especially at home.
