do you go for. This will be our first trip. Right now I've got it booked for 9 days Tues to the following Wed. I don't want to drop a few days just to save money but also don't want to over stay. My total for our trip is $2090 with free dinning at POP. I will save about $106 per day I drop. This will be our first trip.

I think it depends on the age(s) of those in your group and what type of vacation you like to do.

If you have small children, you'll want to spend a lot of time at MK, and (in my opinion) not as many at Epcot for example. Older children might be more interested in the rides rather than the characters.

Something to keep in mind is that, if you are sharing a room with your family, sleep isn't always easy and so you do get tired from just making the basics happen then on top of that is the fun and stimulation of the vacation.

With 9 days you'll be visiting the 4 parks more than once each probably, so look at the maps and what's available and see if you'll be happy to spend more time some place or if you'd rather have the $$ back to do more on a shorter vacation (more meal options or treats for example).

I think (but have absolutely nothing to back this up) that a lot of people do a 5d/6n or a 6d/7n WDW vacation and are able to get everything in and not rush and have a great time.

There are also people who go for weeks at a time, every year! So I really do think it depends on who is in your group/family and what you want the vacation to be like.

HAVE FUN!

We normally always go for 14 days as we're travelling from the UK, but next year we're going for 17 days :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: and it can't come quick enough :hyper: , I only wish we lived closer, so we could nip more often ;)

There is so much to do on-site besides the four parks. The resorts are great to walk around and enjoy. AKL has the animals to look at, there's walking and biking trails at some of the resorts, there's fishing at some of them, Ft. Wilderness has the campfire and sing-a-long in the evening and I think there's hiking there too. There's mini-golf courses and of course the water parks. There's alot to do at Downtown Disney. So I don't think 9 days is too many days. We have gone for 6 days three times and have not been able to see or do half of what we have wanted. We have done the parks, see a few of the resorts but outside of that, there's still much we haven't seen. I don't think we will get back to Disney again but if I was ever able to go, I would love to go for two weeks and even then I don't think it would be enough.

You could probably stay for 3 weeks and do different things every day. It depends on how hard core you are. You could see the best of DW in 5 -6 days at a moderate pace.

We always stay for 9 days every year and I find that that is a great
amount of time to get most everything in without rushing.
The one thing we don't get is Hopper passes (they are $45.00pp extra or 180.00 extra total for 4 people)we only get base tickets.
Free Dining is wonderful and is saving you lots of money which you other
wise would have to spend for food. We would be spending $1215.00 for the
DP if we didn't have it for free. We are staying at a MOD with 2 Adult and 2 Disney Adults and our cost is $2398.42 (which includes FD and Base Tickets for 7 Days).
We ususally either hang out at the Resort on our 1st and last day or head to DTD.
I find when it's your 1st trip you need as many days as you can get.
On your future trips you may not need as much days but it sure hard to
cut down the days because there is so much to do and so little time to get it done.

i typically go for 7 nights. i went for 10 days once and it seemed to be too long. but my Ex didn't go on vacation with us, so it was just me and DS. we are going from sunday to sunday this time. we will be me, my boyfriend, DS and nephew. and this time i just don't think it will be long enough! this is my first trip ever having an adult along. i am so excited! :woohoo:

i am pretty laid back in my vacations. i make few resservations for breakfast or dinner and the rest we just wing it. i don't like having a schedule on vacation so this works for us. even at 7 nights i have never left feeling like i missed something. actually, i plan obsessively before the trip and then throw it all out the window when i get there.

I'd love to go for a whole week but we like to have another vacation in addition to DW (usually Mexico for a week, a 4 night trip to Vegas or a driving trip through New England). Due to costs, a short trip to DW is all we can afford.

I am hoping to go again in 2009, perhaps for 5 nights. We'll see! With the free DDP it's enticing to stay for longer!

Typically, a week. That seems about right. Leaves us wanting more.

the first time, we went for 2 weeks and struggled to fit everything in that we wanted to do (we go to universal, seaworld etc as well) so last year we went for three weeks - perfect!

We are hoping that 9 days is the magic number! We always go in Sept so back when it was just DH and I, we could easily do everything we wanted to do in 4 days (since you can just walk onto rides...this was pre-Free Dining). We have increased days since then but I can safely say that with DD, 6 days was not enough. We never had time to just spend a day just hanging out and relaxing. We were "on the go" the whole time. So we bumped it up to 9 days this time. If all goes according to plan, we will have two days with nothing much to do!

We were there 10 days last year (first trip ever) and are staying 14 days this year (would love more). :lovestruc

There is so much we missed with only 10 days. We only got to explore DTD one whole day, never got to see Cirque, only visited three other resorts, never went to a Water Park, only did one of the two putt-putt courses, DH & DS did not get to golf, did not get to the "Campfire Sing-a-Long" and Movie, ect... The four parks are awesome but there are tons more things to see and do!

Our upcoming trip we are cutting down the days we attend the theme parks all day, and visiting/doing a lot of other WDW related items that we missed the first round! :cool1: We are so excited!

In the grand scheme of things, $100.00 bucks a day, inluding nice lodging and all food, for the entire family, is a great deal! :thumbsup2

Stay until you are content! ::yes::
