I'm feeling the need for one right now! How many vacations a year do you and/or your family take a year AND how long is your typical vacation??

We just became DVC members and we're taking 2 trips to WDW this year - one for 7 nights and one for 6 nights.

Just one real long vacation (2 weeks) and then camping on weekends during the summer.

it varies from year to year. but this year... i am going to disney in may for 10 days. i went to Ohio in january for a week and will probably go back this summer for a week or so. Ohio is not that expensive as far as vacations go because i go stay with family. but we do the tourist thing so it does add up.

Usually three and all to the beach. We go once to the gulf of Florida, once to the ocean in South Carolina, and then to see my dad on the gulf in Alabama. We usually stay a week each time. We go to WDW about every three to four years. My children are grown so we go way off season to the beach.

In 2002:

Before moving to Indy:

Feb: one weekend in Indy

March: 10 days in Indy

(do these count as vacations if we were up here looking at relocation options? ;) )

After moving to Indy:

Summer: a few weekend trips to Ohio and Kentucky

Sept: 1 week at WDW, 1 week in Miami Beach, 1 1/2 weeks in Melbourne

Dec: a 5 day x-mas trip to Melbourne to see family turned into 3 weeks from Hell, when car problems forced stops (Jasper, FL-4 days, Calhoune, GA-2 days, Chattanooga, TN-2 days) and finally a return to Melbourne for 2 weeks

In 2003:

The only projected trip at present is to FL in June for a wedding and a combination WDW trip, hopefully for at least a week!

Usually a couple that are a week or so long, and a bunch of long weekends in between.

I LOVE to travel. If I had my way, I'd be going somewhere every weekend.

Wow! I'm still working my way up to a full week of vacation once a year! I'm jealous because I love to travel! I have all sorts of plans it's just getting the money for the four of us to travel plus a horse-sitter! I'm looking forward to six days for our cruise in November and hoping to get a weekend at Ocean City this summer.

Last year we had our week at WDW.
And over the summer DS & I took 5 long summer weekend trips - 2 to hotels, 3 camping.

This year however (since we are in a different financial situation) the 3 of us have a 6night NH hotel planned, DS & I have a 3night camping trip planned and our MAGIC cruise.

Usually one for about a week.....but last year we got 2.
both to WDW. One in Jan. for 2 weeks and one in Dec. for 9 days (had to get the most out of our APs).

So this year, it will be 2 short ones. 3 days to Las Vegas and 6 days to Disneyland.

It varies from year to year. Always Hilton Head in July. We do a couple of long weekends camping. We just came back from WDW in December. I have 3 weeks paid by my clients and always use them -- even if we don't go away.

One two week family vacation. Then I take from before Thanksgiving until after New Years off. Then I usually have the whole summer off!

We usually take 2 week long trips. The last couple years it was 1 week in WDW and 1 week in Hawaii. Last year the budget was tighter so we went to WDW 2 weeks. AP's are the best !!;)

I don't know if we will get to go to Hawaii and WDW this year but thats my plan.;)

We very from year to year, but have done more since joining DVC. Last year we did a lot:

Long weekend to Disneyland in Feb.
4 night Wonder Cruise and 2 days in WDW in May
Weekend in Milwaukee for Nascar race in June
Weedend in Milwaukee for Irish Fest in August
7 nights in WDW in October
Long weekend in WDW in December.

This year we have:
4 night DVC Member Cruise in Feb.
7 night Western Magic Cruise in May
Weekend in Milwaukee for Nascar race in June
Weekend in Milwaukee for Irish Fest in August
5 nights in WDW in December

We have been blessed that we are both at the 3 week mark for vacations so we take them when we can.

one week long vacation, usually with the family and maybe 3-4 mini vacations to friends houses or theme parks.
