How many times can you watch the same movie?

I'm one who will watch a movie once and be done with it. (I might watch it again like 10 years later)

My husband, on the other hand will watch a movie over & over & over. I don't care if he just saw it last year, last month, last night or this morning.

I can watch repeats of a TV show or cooking channel show...not a lot but I will watch reruns but a whole movie time & time again? No thank you.

Most of the time, this is me. But DH can watch them over and over again. Transformers, Lord of the Rings series, etc.

depends on the movie
Fantasia - we watched every day for over 5 years
austic son wouldn't go to bed until he watched it
I still watch it today

we usually go to bed when a movie ends now

I am like our DH and my DH is like you.

There are movies I have probably seen 100 times but I get crazy when DH puts on a Law & Order, Mythbuster, NCIS (insert almost any show) Marathon. It may not even repeat but 20 hours of the same show in a week drives me bonkers.

my first reaction to this was a hearty chuckle as dh is currently watching lotr, for the umpteenth time, s o the answer is clearly a never ending number of times.

I can rewatch a movie, but not if I've just seen it this morning or yesterday,or this week etc, however dh has no issue with this at all.

eldest dd used to watch pooh, over and over again, could recite every word from the videos,it was cute, but slightly annoying at the same time! :goodvibes

Good movie making is an art. Like literature. When you reread a masterpiece you find new ideas, levels of meaning, etc. Same with a movie.

If I really enjoy a movie I can watch it a few times. Just depends I guess. Some movies I can't even finish, same with books. I am rather selective in how I waste my time.

If it's one of my favorites, like Christmas Vacation, Gone With The Wind, etc. I can watch them over and over and over and over and... :)

Other movies, if I didn't like it the first time, or just thought it was "okay" then I would prefer not to waste time watching it again.

If it is a movie on my top ten list, I can watch it every time it is on. Remember the Titans is my number one. ABC Family can really thwart my weekend plans, as they show RTT quite often and sometimes back to back. Talk about having a Slug-Saturday!!!

Your dh and I would get along quite well!

I remember one year when I was loading boxes into my car to get ready to move back to school for the year, my neighbor came out and made a comment about the movies I had packed. "Movies that you've seen how many times already?" That was the first time it ever even occurred to me that people didn't rewatch movies. And tv shows for that matter. Tv on DVD is the world's greatest invention as far as I'm concerned.

But yes, I can rewatch forever. The other day I was home alone and my 6th favorite movie came on (yes, I rewatch and rank ::yes:: ) and I realized about half an hour in that I'd been reciting the dialogue (and singing the songs  ) word-for-word the entire time while I was cleaning with it on in the background. I was alone so I kept going. So yeah, I've seen it more than once. ;) If i love a movie, why not rewatch? Not to mention, I don't want to have to focus on something new every time I watch a movie.

Im the same way. :) There are a handful of movies I can have on and literally watch it in my mind: the dialogue, scenery, gestures. it's great for when I want background noise but don't want to be distracted.

Really depends on the movie. I can watch some movies over and over and I never get tired of them. I think Les Mis is going to be one of those because I just saw it the other day and I can't wait to see it again.

Oh my goodness! We have been through 3 vhs tapes of Fantasia and now.we're on our 2nd DVD. Christian is severely mentally handicapped and autistic but he truly loves Fantasia. We all know the music by heart now

Now, see if it's a show that I love, I could sit there all Saturday long watching a marathon. That I love. But I swear, if DH watches, Shawshank Redemption, Goonies, A Christmas Story, Westerns, Star Wars, etc.....one more time my head is going to explode!!! :furious:

If its a movie I love I'll watch it over and over.

I am like you...just one and done. DH drives me nuts watching the same handful of movies over and over and over... (like My Cousin Vinny and Harry Potter...as well as constantly watching and re-watching the old show, Murder She Wrote ). When we go to bed at night, I need to watch TV to fall asleep (I have sleep troubles...always have). So, we fight over what gets put on the TV...I have zero interest in watching Murder She Wrote (episode 'whatever' for the 10th time) and that's all he wants to watch (or college football).

As others have said, it all depends on the movie! I can watch the Die Hard Movies over & over. Anything with Tommy Lee Jones I'll watch over & over. Toy Story, Shrek I watch every time its on tv.
Oh, and I'll watch Rear Window (the original) every time its on too.

I can watch Home Alone (1&2), Back to the
Future (all 3), Wedding Crashers, Hungover (1&2), Step Brothers, Christmas classics, Ace Ventura, Dumb And Dumber

It really depends on the movie. I'll watch my favorites over and over again.

The kids I babysit will watch the same movie 3 times in one day, and it doesn't bother me. We watched Hercules and the Aristocats last night, and then watched them again when I was there this morning.

Depends on the movie. Some movies I can watch every time they come on. Other movies, I can watch once a month or so.
