I was wondering how many of you sale on Ebay? I have just started, wow it is alot of work! What kind of items are you selling? I am new to doing Ebay. I am a stay at home mom (I am disabled now), our DD is away at her first year of College. I am home alot with my beagle, so I decided to try to get rid of some things on Ebay. So far I have only sold a few things. I almost find it discouraging. Any tips would be nice.

I just started selling on Ebay too. I've sold a total of 1 thing! Not much at all. I have 2 other auction listed with no bites. Any tips would be appreciated as well. :sunny:

Most auctions don't get "bites" till the last day or even the last minutes!

The most important thing to ebay is to do your research. Check completed items to see if and for how much your item will sell. Buyers are very savvy on eBay and they won't pay WAY more for your item if another one is listed for way less.

Know what people want! This takes research, too. Collectibles are very bg sellers, you just have to know what people collect and offer it.

Yes, it's a lot of work but anything that's good is. An excellent source of info is in the Budget Board and we're about to put up a FAQ for those who really want to know. Our good friend intenseblue has worked hard on it!

Good luck with your new venture!

My husband and I did some selling on Ebay for awhile. We haven't sold/bought on ebay in about a year now. Been busy with building a new house.

I agree with the previous poster. Research! You should know what your items are worth in the "Ebay World" which may be different than what you might think. Research your items and see if others are selling and for how much. While your looking at the prices see how many bidders there were. This will give you an idea if there are many people looking for this item or it may be just a few. I see this with Dis Pins (others as well) there will be oh say 12 of the same pin listed seperately and only 2 or 3 have a bid on it. This is bad if they are ending real soon but not so bad if they have a day or two left. Don't get upset if there isn't a bidding frenzy and your auction still has more than a day to go. Most ebayers wait until the very last minute to bid. Literally sometimes.

Keep in mind that your item may not sell at all. Even worse you could have a bidder who backs out after the auction is over. Be careful and don't be afraid to visit the forums at Ebay the people there can be helpful also.

As for listing your item, make it look nice but put good information in the auction along with pictures. Keep in mind download times and make sure your honest about what you are selling.

It can be fun and Yes!!! it is ALOT of work sometimes. I disn't find it worth my time financially, I'll probably do it again when we get settled and all is back to normal. Probably a year?

Anyhow, Good Luck and have fun
