Hello! We are going in Nov staying at Marriott villas. I thought we would be able to go back to the villa to rest eat lunch etc. But seeing how the park hours are short it will probably be best to stay in the parks. Unless of course the kiddies get too cranky. On one day in MK we have an 800 PS at the CP. Should I make a PS for lunch or dinner that day? Another day we are going to the 8pm luau. I was thinking of a lunch PS early that afternoon. My ? is do they take up a lot of timer or is it better to do counter service? I don't want to have too many PS"s but then I don't want to say I wish I would have made one. All this planning is hard especially when DH has no idea what Disney is like- he's never been. He's not into these boards so poor little me has to do all the research and planning. It's a good thing Im having fun already just reading about what's coming up! TIA

PS Ii wish I could get tagged.

Well, we always take time for a PS for lunch. The food is so much better, the service at most restaurants is very good and the meals are served very quickly. It is a very nice, relaxing break from the parks and leaves us refreshed.

Happy planning!

My mom (mid 50's) and myself (early 30's) did this plan last year and felt that it worked great for us (no children with us). We generally ate around 9:00 for breakfast (sometimes at Shoneys, somethings at park (bakery) and sometimes food we brought - cereal bars/dry cereal). We also brought in light snacks and found that after walking around we like to snack about 11:30. We found that making late lunch ressie's around 1:30 to 2:00 at a buffet made a great afternoon break (rest feet), take a break and ate a good meal (fast food is disgusting there). We had energy afterwards and stayed in the parks (MK, MGM and AK) basically until they closed (in offseason early). Then we went back to the hotel and either picked up fast food or something offered at the hotel. Some days we did have two ressie's. These days we usually did 2 parks (ie. MK in am into early afternoon and then dinner in Epcot). We left at least 5 1/2 hours inbetween meals and brought snacks for those in between times. In general, I find that the buffets only take about 1 to 1hr 15 mins for us but we were also looking for that nice break at that time anyway. Try it out and see how it works for you. Have a great vacation.

We only make one PS a day - usually! Sometimes, though, it is smart to make two. In your case, if you are staying in the parks for the day, it would make sense to fit in another meal/break if your budget allows.

My picks: On the MK day you are eating at 8am (CP). I'd make a midafternoon PS at the Plaza Restaurant (sort of lunch/dinner). this place is great, and won't break the bank!

On the Luau day, since you'll be up late, sleep in that morning and start your touring around 11am at Epcot. Make a PS at the Garden Grill around 1pm. We love the food here (simple, but tasty) and it has characters!. Hang out in Epcot then jump on the monorail to the Poly for the Luau.

Just remeber, it is simple to cancel PS's. So it makes sense to make and break them, rather than take a chance. And if you're having fun doing something and a PS threatens to get in the way - skip it!
