thanks to all who responded to my poll. 80 people responded with a total points of 31,506 divided by 80 = 393.825

I don't think you can trust those numbers, 80 is not even 1% of all members! If I understand math correctly, (which could be a major issue!!!) If you really want to know, do a pole, and keep it stuck to the top for awhile.

Based on the detailed December 2004 budgets for calendar year 2005 there were about 23,650,000 points. Divide that among some 75,000 members as detailed in the 3/05 POS. That would be about 315 points per member. The individual resorts ranged from 250 to 360 points per member.

Admittedly this is off because two different dates were involved, but the results don't surprise me.

It really doesn't matter how many people reply to his poll. The only conclusion that anyone can draw from any poll like this is that the "average number of points held by the posters who responded to the poll are xx".

Without selecting an appropriate sample size according to very specific principles (and self-selection isn't one of the priciples, LOL), you cannot apply the results of a poll to the entire population of DVC members no matter how many people respond.

The POS (Public Offering Statement) you get when you buy from Disney. The detailed budgets for all resorts were a collective effort here on the DIS headed by Troy WDW.

We have 170 at VWL. We wanted around 150 and TSS had a 170 so we thought close enough. We don't have any children yet and even with a toddler we can be in a studio for years to come. I think we will probably add on in 5-7 years so we can get a 1 bedroom.

We'll see.

Happy with the choices and the numbers of points at each one. BWV is the one most likely to be 'converted' to something else at 7 months - they were bought just in case I wanted few nights with a Boardwalk view.
