How many points are you using if you go to Europe?

There are many Disney World vacation DVC point charts that tell you how many points you will be using daily and weekly if you stay at one of their resorts, but what about if you go to a different country like Italy. Is there a chart or something that will tell you how many points you would be using and where you can stay?

Also has anyone used there membership to take a vacation in another country? I'm new to this and my family has only used our membership for Walt Disney World in Florida. Im thinking about using the remaining points to go to another continent. If so, where did you go and what did you do? :)

Thanks

On the MS website the point chart is located under Vacation Planning Tools, Vacation Point charts, World Passport Collection, Club Cordial. There is a $95 fee to make these reservations. You call MS about booking.

It looks like it runs 11 points for a studio up to 51 points for a 2 BR. Just like with a DVC booking it varies based on the dates booked.

We haven't used it so I can't give you any other advice.

DenLo thanks for replying. Do I have to create an account to access this information? (I think i may need to call MS for a code)

Are you a new member? When you are entered into the DVC system, MS will send you a temporary user name and password along with your temporary DVC membership card. If you are in the system, you might be able to call MS tomorrow and get the password and user name right away.

We've traded twice into Europe, once in '03 when DVC's partner was Interval International and last year into RCI. Both times we went to the United Kingdom, the first in southern England in the New Forest area and last year in Scotland at the Hilton Craiggondarrich by Balmoral Castle.

We are currently planning on trading for 2014, we start by looking at where we want to go and make our top 5 list. Then I contact DVC give them the top 5 list of reserts we are willing to trade for and the date range we would like to travel. This has worked out really well with both trades. Once a trade is accepted, DVC contacts you and lets you know which one you got. The more flexible you are, the better chances you'll have of a trade.

I then build our vacation around where we traded into and off we go!

LGM:)

Are these "Club Cordial" resorts available to the post 3/20 resale purchasers?

The resort we stayed at in '03 was one in Interval International (DVC's old trading partner) and the Hilton Craiggondarrich was traded through DVC's current partner RCI.

Club Cordial is another vendor that you can trade-in. Though I'm not sure about post 3/20 resale purchasers.

Sorry a bit off topic but when we went to Disney Paris we paid for the hotel and tickets OOP. It was just a better use of our money to do it this way. They had a min nites to stay rule and other things that we just felt made paying cash better than using points.
