How many photos do you take whil on holiday?

Generally I take around 75-100 when on a 'normal' holiday & around 60mins of camcorder footage but last time I went to WDW I took around 150 pictures & 90 mins of film.

This year I have 3 60min camcorder tapes & memory cards for 280 pictures and am scared it wont be enough! This is def' the last time for a very long time we will be going to WDW and will almost certainly be the only time we go away with so many family members so I want to catch it all and not miss a moment.

Each time Ive been Ive taken about 10 films and Ive had to buy another couple out there! I try to limit myself on taking pictures but I worry I might miss something or a photo wont come out!

time to invest in a digital camera. :sunny:

Then you will be sure the picture has taken OK and you can get rid of the awful ones before having to pay out for prints.

I took 473 last year :rotfl: had them all printed and they're all in neat albums lol

In fact it was the sorting them out into albums that made me book again for this August lol

I took 600 last WDW holiday :)

Far too many ;) But I'm glad of all of them when I look through them all.

When I went to Ibiza 2 years ago, we took one film of 27 shots - and came home with 25 shots not used, so I am not a prolific photographer in normal circumstances, honestly!!

Hi Ely,
You should try being married to a professional photographer, not only does my DH take 1000’s of photos but he spends ages setting each photo up so its just right.
I shouldn’t complain as we have some brilliant pictures from our travels to WDW and other parts of the US (my favourite is a 5ft by 1ft panoramic of the Grand Canyon from last year it cost a lot to have it framed and it takes up the whole living room wall...but it is amazing).
If you have a digital camera I would definitely invest in another memory card thing’y apparently they are quite reasonably priced… even more so if you buy one at the airport or in the US.

have a great time

I took about 800 last visit but as it is a digital camera it does not matter, I just keep the best.

Jeeze! 600? 800? 1000's?

I need a new memory card....

Seriously though, If I do need more I think Walmarts have a photo section where you can have pics transferred to cd and then wipe your memory card for reuse.

Listening to you lot has made me buy another memory card!. Not advertising for them but www.ebuyer.co.uk seems to be one of the cheapest with free shipping on their bestsellers. I've just bought a high speed 1gb SD card for less than £50!

I must have taken nearly 1000 :rolleyes1 I came back with 5 discs and 2 memory cards with pictures on. I put the best onto DVD, but thats the best thing with having a digital camera, I know that I wouldn't have taken that many if I had to pay for developing them. :sunny:

Between DW and I we came back from our 3-week April trip with approx 4000 pics! :scared1: She was responsible for around 400 of 'em so that means I took . . . . . . . A LOT!!! :teeth:

I've onyl finished sorting mine and I have 1,785.....just need to upload them all now for you to see!!

Hey, Maleficent Man that is fantastic, cant wait to see.

I dont feel so bad saying i eventually ended up with 673, that is after the deleting session - so i guess maybe 800 was originally taken.

I made up an album of the best ones and used lots of different sizes - so at least i didnt have to have volumes 1, 2, 3.... :rotfl:

Around 500 on my WDW trip which is probably about average for me. It was only a week long though and not on a digital so I will be taking LOADS more next year.

I'm glad you all love photos! Between our family we will have three cameras but we're worried the memory won't hold as many as we will want to take.

I read on some other threads that people got their pictures burnt to cd and then they could wipe the memory and start clicking away all over again. This sounds great and I heard that it can be done in the parks for around $12 but at walgreen's and walmart for about $3. This is much better than having to buy more memory cards obviously.

My only question is, has anyone had this done successfuly? My LB has put the idea in my head that the cd might not work back in the uk on our pc with our electricity etc. Any ideas or is it all the same? Thanks

BTW, from what I've read, if you get this done, make them put the cd back in the pc and show you that it worked. I heard some people deleted their pictures then found the cd was blank :earseek:

No, if they burn to the cd correctly then it will work. Windows is windows.
I always take my laptop and burn the pictures to a DVD (more pictures on one disc than a CD) plus you have a back up of a copy of the pictures on the laptop as well as on a disc.

I feel so much better now - i got my first digital camera last trip and had to go buy more memory cards as I tool nearly 1000 pictures! I only printed out the best ones but all the others cycle through on my screen saver and they're just great memories...

I'm thining of investing in one of those multi media player portable hard drive thingies to download photos as I go this year - as we're out for an extra week, there's 7 more people with us and it's our honeymoon!!

You can actually check the disc in Walmarts as they have a pc, I always checked mine in there before I erased the card after I lost over 500 photos by the chap in the camera shop not knowing what he was doing. Walmarts give you a proof sheet of all the photos too.
