How many people can share On-site Express?

Hi all. The wife and I have stayed on-site at U.O. many times, so we know the in and outs of EPs. But, this trip is a little different than our past trips.

We'll be staying on-site at WDW with the in-laws, then hopping over to RPR for 3 days. The in-laws will be staying at WDW the entire trip, but will be coming over to Uni for at least 1 day.

My question is, since we have a standard quen room that sleeps 5 people, can we add them to the room so they can use EPs? I tried booking on-line and every time I add 4 adults to the room it increases the AP rate from $215 to $250. It's really not worth adding them on for nearly an extra hundred dollars, since they only do about 50% of the attractions at both parks. And I doubt they would want to chip in on the extra $$$$.

I know it's kind of a 'cheat' to the system, but I'm just curious if we could do this, without an additional expense. It's a royal pain when we have EPs and the rest of our party doesn't.

We tried doing that this past Oct. and it was frustrating waiting even in short lines with the rest of our party.

You are only allowed 2 adults in a room without extra charges. There is a $20 charge/night per extra adult.

So if you all want to go on rides together using the express you will have to pay the extra charge per night.

If you don't care if you ride together, then there really is no issue is there? (insert nod, nod, wink, wink here)

Thank for the answer Damo.

It would be nice to ride together... Maybe the'll be willing to contribute an extra $80 to get there own room keys.

For EP access all day long at both parks, $20 a day, per person, really isn't that much.

I may get flamed for this but I will tell you about our experience. We are a family of six and during 2005, had 2 rooms at AKL. I wanted to give our 2 oldest daughters a treat away from us and booked a room at RPR but registered 5 (2 adults 3 children) for the room. When checking in that morning, I mentioned to the front desk clerk that we wouldn't be all staying in the room but would it be possible to get a 6th key for front of the line. I knew in advance that this was a request that could get a no but she accomodated us. So I suggest that when you check in, explain the situation and maybe they will give you the extra keys. It never hurts to ask.

Thanks for the advice Calgarygary. I was going to wait until check-in to ask about adding additional adults, just in-case they might be willing to do something like this.

The CMs at Loews always helped us out on our other stays (free fridge in room, extra free toys for the little one). So, they may be willing to accomodate a request like this. Considering EPs are $25 a day for both parks, I can't imagine the parks are going to be very crowded.

I've been waiting to get flamed for this thread... I'm suprised no one has jumped on it!

But, my opinion, if the room is considered a 5 person room, why should I be charged more to fully utilize the room and have 5 people in it?

All you would really need the in-laws on your reservation would be 1 night and it would give them 2 days of FOTL, because it would be good for their day of check-in and check-out.

This technically isn't "by the book" but if it is only you and your wife staying on-site when you book your room say there are 4 occpuants...2 adults and 2 children you will still get the 4 room keys which will allow you FOTL access without paying the 4 adult extra charge...as they are only joining you for 1 day in the park it really shouldn't be a big deal rather than pay the extra adult charges for the whole stay...we book for 3 and our son always gets the same room key as we do which gives him the same priority to FOTL access.:thumbsup2

The room keys have A for adult and C for child. It also lists the ages of anyone under 18 on the room key for that person. Example: Smith, Jamie 16 A

The 16 is the age and the A stands for adult.
I doubt that the adults could get by using a child's room key for express.

Thanks for the advice everybody. I made a few suggestions to the in-laws, we'll try and see if we can't just add them at check-in.

Maybe the clerk will be nice and not charge us for the additional adults. If they do charge the additional $20 a night, we'll probably just add them for one night.

$20 a person for express access to both parks for 2 days is still cheaper than the $25 EPs sold in the park.
