Hi. We're planning to take our first trip to Disneyland and would like to stay at the Disneyland Hotel. I tried to make a reservation for Easter week in a suite, but there are none available. I hate the idea of getting two rooms (I have four kids), because the cost is just too high for us. Can anyone tell me if the rooms are large enough to allow for two kids to sleep in sleeping bags on the floor.

Never having been there, I'm not sure of the square footage of the rooms. For those of you who are familiar with WDW hotels, are the rooms more like the Polynesian in size or like Dixie Landings?

Any guidance or advice anyone can give would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!!

They are bigger than the rooms at Port Orleans, not sure about the Poly. You cannot fit four kids into them however due to firecodes. They only allow five to a room. Your option is to get a suite at one of the offsite hotels or two rooms either offsite or the DLH. I know that the Best Western Park Place Inn, the Tropicana, The Camelot and the HoJo all have suites and are as close to Disneyland as the DLH if not closer. If you did end up putting all six of you in one room at any hotel that does not allow it that could be a problem as hotels generally enforce the firecodes due to safety and liablity issues. Good luck, I know its tough for larger families to find good onsite accomodations at both DL and WDW!

We stayed at the Embassy Suites South. It has a suite that fits 6 people. 2 Queens in one room and a Double-Hidabed in the main room. The queen beds were comfortable but the hideabed is not. So we took the mattress off the hidabed and switched it with a queen mattress for the nights we were there. Another note - You have to use the RTA - Final note - You get Cook to order Continential Breakfast - Even a Free Managers hour in the evening, kids get popcorn, and pop, while adults can have I think a drink?? - Not sure about the drink we only had popcorn, pizza, and pop. Hope you find what your looking for. Have fun!

I have a visual of all of the characters---Mickey, 7 dwarves, a few princesses---stacked into a phone booth 1960's fraternity style! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OP: consider staying across the street on Harbor, as mentioned, for more economical (but not fire-code-illegal) accommodations!
