Under 5 hours until our flight leaves the deep freeze of Wis for the sunny state of Florida...I've been up for hours 'cause I'm TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP!!

Twenty three hours and counting! I'm so ready to get outta this upstate NY weather. Not to mention, see my best friend Mickey! Two days ago I was right on track... planning done, a little packing started, plan in place to do laundry and finish packing yesterday. But alas! I get a call from the school nurse and DD (7) is feeling sick. Our nurse is a little too eager to send kids home, but I'm not gonna argue with her. So I go get DD. Although she seems to be coming down with a cold, she is not ready to lose her cookies, as I had been told.

Needless to say, I didn't get everything done that I had planned yesterday, making today a very busy day! But it's all worth it! Mickey, we're comin' soon!

We leave for some Florida sunshine next Thursday, so that would be in 156 hours 48 minutes and 30 seconds ... but who's counting!

2!! Approximately. We're a bit worried about the storm coming in tonight. The first leg of our trip, from here in Pa. to DC, should be fine. But tomorrow morning freezing rain is expected to hit DC, so we may end up just taking a quick nap tonight at my daughter's house there, then leaving around midnight-2 am. Anything to avoid bad weather on the Beltway!

We'll take turns driving and napping, and get there in the afternoon!!
