Hello! We are planning a big family reunion for Summer 2023
On a Disney cruise and I have a few questions! What is the max number of people that can fit in a room, including suites? Are there adjoining rooms available? When will summer 2023 itineraries be released?
Thanks so much!

5 is the most and that only works for suites and deluxe family verandah rooms. All other rooms are 4. Even so, I would NOT recommend trying to squeeze 5 people into any room if you can at all avoid it.

Most rooms adjoin to one other room and I don't think I've heard anything about when summer 2023 itineraries will be released. Depends on what you're planning on though. The 3/4 night cruises out of Port Canaveral are very predictable. 3 nights leave Friday and come back Monday, 4 nights leave Monday and come back on Friday.

We usually have 4 in a family room with a fold down bunk and couch. Very crowded for me. But it’s fine. Lots of storage which is good. And the 2 bathrooms, one with shower and sink and the other with toilet and sink. You need to request adjoining rooms and make sure they are pre assigned. We have done that in past and just left the door unlocked between rooms so the kids and grandkids can move around at will.

Just another perspective - we are a family of 5 and have been very comfortable in the Family verandahs on the Fantasy/Dream (bed arrangement is 1 queen, 1 set of bunk beds (turns to couch during the day), one pull down murphy bed (put away during the day)). I think it depends on the family to decide if it would/would not work.
Additionally, if you are a large extended family and looking to book multiple rooms, I recommend using a travel agent as it will be easier for them to find connecting or adjoining rooms that fit your needs, rather than trying to look for rooms yourself.

Actually you need to request CONNECTING rooms. Adjoining just means they are next to each other. Connecting have the connecting interior door.

How many may be booked into a room varies by ship.
  • The Magic and Wonder have concierge suites that sleep up to 7.
  • The Dream and Fantasy max out at 5 guests.
  • The Wish has a concierge Tower Suite that sleeps up to 8.
Just keep in mind that not every stateroom in a category may sleep the max. For example, category 8A may say it sleeps 3-5 in the general description, but only certain staterooms can book 5 or even 4. All staterooms sleep at least 3 guests.

There are some cabins that only sleep 3. The reservation system won’t let you book more people in a cabin then fit ( 4 people in a cabin that only sleeps 3)
The cabins have a queen bed (it doesn’t separate to two beds)
The 3 person cabin will have a couch that folds down to a twin bed.
The 4 person cabin will have the same but a twin bunk that folds down from the ceiling
The 5 person cabin adds a additional twin Murphy Bed) that folds down from the wall.

Pre Covid suites went very fast.
If you wanted a suit you needed to book the day the cruise was released to the public ( can’t remember how far in advance someone else please chime in😊)
Suite guests have some special privileges (happy hour, special character photos, private pool deck area) only the guest booked in suite cabins are able to attend even if other family in a regular cabins.
Also once you book a suite your money is non refundable. Regular cabins you can cancel.

Are there adjoining rooms available?

Yes. There most rooms are adjoining at least one other - because adjoining means across the hall, diagonal, around the corner, or next door but without a door in between them.

There are also a number of connecting rooms - those that have the internal door - BUT that will only handle 2 rooms. There are not chains of connecting rooms.

You can do 5 in a Deluxe Family but it'll be tight. Did that on the Wonder and it was a stretch. If I were you I would get a bunch of rooms and split everyone up. All the rooms have a door that make them connecting, so if you book them side by side, you can open the door for more space. I think the same can be done for balconies too.

No matter what, I would book a travel agent. No extra cost, they will figure all of that out for you and you'll get some incentives.

All the rooms have a door that make them connecting,
As noted only two rooms at a time have a connecting door. If more rooms are required, they wouldn't be "connecting" unless they are verandah rooms with connecting verandahs (not all are).
