How many extras are too many in one night?

My sister and I will be in the parks for the weekend in August. We will only have two Park touring days. One day will be hs and Epcot and the other will be mk morning then a break and then the after hours event. Obviously we want to use each moment wisely. Do you think it would be too much to add hea dessert party to our mk night? Neither of us have seen the show. We want to make sure to get a good spot. It seems like the dessert party might be a good option for us. But do you think it would be too much to have the after hours event and dessert party on the same night. I would love input especially if you have done both in the same night! Thanks!

I haven't been to the after hours event, but greatly enjoyed the MK dessert party. It was great to have a good viewing spot without having to scout out a spot super early.

If you have hoppers I would go for AK instead of MK in the morning. Definitely keep the After Hours at MK, you will be able to do so much that I don't think you need to also do MK that morning. I would not spend the extra money on the dessert party. We did it once and had the garden view. It was nice, but since they raised the price we feel it's not worth the price. Its tough to eat $70 worth of desserts and quite honestly we had a good view of HEA on a different night with just finding a spot a little before the show. And the dessert party eats up more time than just scoping out a "good spot" to watch. I would definitely not do both the same night.

I personally wouldn't do the dessert party and DAH. I did the DAH event in March and we were constantly moving from one ride to the next. We didn't stop for the fireworks at all. Since it's your only chance to see HEA could you go find a spot to watch HEA and then start riding rides instead of wasting more time doing the dessert party?

Depends on the date. Dessert party/fireworks times and DAH times vary over the range of DAH dates currently offered.

I wonder what the times are for her particular dates. That would be my deciding factor. If the dessert party/fireworks runs into my DAH time I wouldn't do it. If they don't overlap I would definitely do the dessert party.

Yeah, I actually just realized that's what you were asking the OP - I thought I was in another thread for a second! Doh. Sorry!

But I agree with you... HEA times in August range from 8:55pm-9:15pm. DAH times range from 10pm start to 9pm start. So I agree the details / times matter.
