How many DVC folks "clean the jacuzzi tub" before using?

If so should I buy a small bottle of bleach and how much should I use to clean out the jets? Thanks:)
A tablespoon of bleach will bring the chlorination level in the tub to the level you will find in a typical pool or hot tub. Plenty to kill anything in the water, but not so much as to make the water unusable.

We cleaned the jacuzzi tub when I finally stayed in a villa that had one- and then we got so busy having fun in the parks and the pool that we never used the tub!

Fill with hot, hot water & bleach. Run for 10 - 15 minutes. Drain, fill again with hot water & run again to rinse.

The bleach is an item on our wegoshop order everytime!

:thumbsup2
That's what we do. Bleach or Cascade.

Wow just a tablespoon?! Thanks for your help. I hope to find an afternoon or evening to just relax in the tub.

Most of the stuff in the pipes is harmless it is just from the water sittting in the pipes. I never clean them but do put a small amount of bleach in it. I just can not see wasting that much time to fill it up empty it fill it up again empty it and fill it up again... start at 9 A.M. you can use the tube by 3 P.M. :lmao:
How many kids pee in the pool every day

I always bring Clorox Hardsurface cleaner from home and everything ggets cleaned. Nothing against Disney but after watching 20/20 I take it EVERYWHERE!:rotfl:

How much bleach do you pour in??

WOW....I never clean it because I've never used it (as a tub for bathing). I just use it for a very LARGE hamper!! I've never even used the jacuzzi in my own house and I've lived here for 7 years!

Last April I filled it with water and ran a lot of bleach through it. I am glad I did, because there was a gray film all over the tub when I was finished.:scared1: I did a rinse cycle too. It may seem wasteful, but I am a germaphobe and only did this for the first use. I am okay with soaking in my own germs after that:rotfl2:

USE the jacuzzi's?

Jacuzzis are human bacteria frappes!

I wouldn't use a "public" jacuzzi (or pool for that matter) if they were filled with pure bleach.

The "innerds" of jacuzzi's are very seldom cleaned at hotels and in public venues. The "tub" portion is usually the only thing cleaned.

Someone brought to my attention that even if you don't use the jets .....and cleaned the tub itself really good.....that the water level would submerge those jet holes and STUFF COULD FLOAT OUT. What do you guys think about that one??? LOL

So no water parks or resort pools for you???:scared1:

You should see me in a public rest room! :scared:

(actually, statistically, a typical toilet seat has less germs than a kitchen sink/counter. Scary, huh? And, the "dirtiest" location in a public rest room? Drumroll..... the exit handle! You're better off wiping your hands all over a toilet seat than touching that exit handle.)

That wasn't oatmeal. I had a touch of the stomach virus. Sorry.

That is disgusting!!!!! Funny though...that thought did cross my mind when I read the post about the oatmeal!

When we went in May, I asked my husband to put some dishwasher detergent in the tub and run the jacuzzi...only he put in LIQUID detergent. There were so many stinking bubbles that it took a few days for them to completely subside depsite my best efforts!

:rotfl: :rotfl: I didn't think about that side effect!

Yes I have heard this and I am always concerned in public restrooms too. I am the one that uses a paper towel to open the door....or use hand sanitizer after I have to touch that handle. I also think we are becoming too germ conscious and that is why ANTIBIOTICS don't work anymore and my daughter swears that I should have made her eat dirt growing up and we should have lived on a farm. LOL

Wanna think? Think about a typical restroom experience. Go ahead, go through it. Step, by step. by step, by step.

Now think about how often you wear a belt and how often you launder your belt.

Door handles looking pretty good isn't it?

Any guys wears ties? They are teeming with germs. And ladies, when you go to the restroom, where do you put your purse? Or when you go to a restaurant, where is your purse? I've read that purses, especially the bottom of the purse are also germ havens.
