How many DIS members does it take to change a lightbulb?

One to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been
changed.

Fourteen to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how
the light bulb could have been changed differently.

Seven to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs.

Seven more to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about
changing light bulbs.

Three to correct spelling/grammar errors.

Six to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb".

Another six to condemn those six as stupid.

Fifteen to claim experience in the lighting industry and give the
correct spelling.

Nineteen to post that this group is not about light bulbs and to
please take this discussion to a lightbulb (or light bulb) forum.

Eleven to defend the posting to the group saying that we all use
light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this group.

Thirty six to debate which method of changing light bulbs is
superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light
bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty.

Seven to post URLs where one can see examples of different light
bulbs.

Four to post that the URLs were posted incorrectly and then post the
corrected URL.

Three to post about links they found from the URLs that are relevant
to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group.

Thirteen to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety
including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too".

Five to post to the group that they will no longer post because they
cannot handle the light bulb controversy.

Four to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

Thirteen to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting
questions about light bulbs."

Three to tell a funny story about their cat and a light bulb.

AND

One group lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now
with something unrelated and start it all over again

Ok, that's just a retread of how many internet posters does it take...

It's more like:

1 to post how they ran to Lowe's immediately to get a bulb but they were all out.

4 to post how Walt said lightbulbs should be changed every three months so they never burn out

16 to discuss whether or not it's safe to get up on the ladder in crocs, and where particularly you can buy crocs for this purpose

11 to request prayers for those climbing up the ladder

4 to post a countdown till their lightbulbs get changed

3 to compare a lightbulb to Sanjaya on AI

19 to ***** about some kid on heelys who ran into the ladder last time they climbed it to replace a lightbulb

2 to point out that the ladder label says heelys should not be worn around ladders

14 to reminisce about how lightbulbs used to be much brighter when they looked at them with their parents

1 to get a custodian to go change it.

Don't forget one to post that the new light bulb should be an energy saver.

Three to post that energy savers are not needed as Global Warming is a myth.

Seven to post that Global Warming is real.

One to post a supposed satirical but unfunny post that changing light bulbs is pandering to a an anti republican media.

Don't forget that someone will want to know if they are staying at the All Stars if they can go over to the GF to use their lightbulbs.

4 people will tell you that light bulb hopping is not allowed.
3 additional people who will tell you that Disney is not losing any money on light bulb hopping and that they really don't care so you should be allowed to hop.
2 people will say that guests at the All Star resorts should not be allowed to use the luxury light bulbs that deluxe resort guests are paying for.
14 people will tell the 2 people above that they are being elitist light bulb snobs.

Also, you failed to mention the type who like to post something like this:

I HATE it when this bulb burns out...

Thanks for the laugh! That was really funny... and so true. Which is kind of scary.
Good stuff! :)

As long as we're this far afield with the joke, let's add these:

- 1,213 to debate whether it's creepy/ not creepy when people breast feed their light bulbs in public at WDW

- 53 to agree that they can't stand it when people let their 7 year-old light bulbs ride in the stroller

- 12 to scoff at the dim bulbs who don't know that fast pass is free

etc., etc. etc.

1 to say that they're bringing back the lighbulb they got last year.

645 to say they are selfish theives who are going to hell, and bad parents to set such a terrible example.

10 to say they prefer the more expensive bulbs, they give better light.

10 to say they buy the cheap bulbs and prefer to spend their money on something more important.

9,422 to argue about what age children should be allowed to change lightbulbs, whether it is even appropriate for kids to change lightbulbs, and how parents who have kids change lighbulbs are abusive and those that don't are spoiling the kids.

8,045,619 to ask how they should go about buying and installing a lightbulb and should they pay for a service that tells them how to buy and install or just ask here...always asked on a page where the same question appears two threads down.

Not to mention all those DISers who will be extremely offended because by mentioning changing lightbulbs you have insinuated that those who don't change their own lightbulbs, or don't change them often, or use candles instead of lightbulbs, etc, etc, are worthless human beings.

I have to add on...

10 people to only put "susscribing" in the thread about lightbulbs - because this is information EVERYONE needs.
and 120 people to tell them that instead of taking up precious message space they can simply hit the subscribe button (because you know it takes forever to skim over the word "subscribing")

12 to post nothing but the popcorn:: )because they know that the lightbulb threads always get heated.)

and because they want to boost their post count

And let’s not forget the 434 who post that they heard a rumor a light bulb will be changed for free and want to know if they can get it done free based on historical data of others getting it for free. Or the 987 who want to take a poll to have the rest of us help them make a decision about whether or not they should or shouldn’t get the light bulb changed. Or if the 99 bottles of beer on the wall will have any impact on when/how/if the light bulb should be florescent or incandescent.

That said, I’m off to change my 75 watt for a 150 watt so I can shine some more light on this particular subject. Is that ok or should I take a poll?

Oh - don't forget the person who starts the rant  here on the CB ranting about all the ranting  going on inside the thread who think they feel the need to rant  about everything and how everyone can't change a lightbulb. :furious:

:lmao: :rotfl2: ;)

283 DISers to start a light bulb exchange.

34 DISers to ban together and start a light bulb clique.

221 DISers to plan a lightbulb/light bulb meet.

And 16 DISers to argue out that this guy  is or is not DIS appropriate.

4 posters to start a *heated* flame war based on...
(1 poster who then says that the topic has veered completely off-course & is now officially Off-Topic)
...something that has nothing to do with the poor little light-bulb
Heyyyy, wait a minute...did the thread just go "poof" :confused3 ?

:rolleyes1 ,
agnes!

Being an Illumination Logistics Engineer I have to as is your fixture rated for 150 watts? Is that incandescent or compact flourescent? If compact flourescent, then you might consider a ... blah blah blah yada yada yad etc. etc. etc.
