How many days?

Hi All,

I'd like to find out how many days you spend at US and IOA. There just seems to be so many great rides that I think we need to rethink our schedule. We are currently spending 10 days at WDW and four days at US/IOA but I'm thinking that we should spend a day or two more at Universal (esp. if the Mummy ride will be open by mid May). Any thoughts?

It depends on your style, really. Some people only need 2 days, others use 4. Some breeze through commando style, some take time to appreciate all the little things.

14 days? 10 at Disney? Wow. That's a long time. I'm a commando type myself, go go go.
I'd take 3 away from Disney and stay at the Renaissance across from Sea World Florida. Go to Discovery Cove, you get 7 days free at SWF, and then you can take a shuttle over to Busch Gardens Tampa.

We just went for 3 days to USO/IOA but we would go 9-2 and then to hotel to swim. It was plenty . We got to see all the big shows/rides and do them more than once. We did not go to everything just things that interested our family.We went one day to Discovery Cove and one day to Sea World and one two hour day to Wet and Wild but it was crowded,raining and my child got sick there but it was our last day!!

The reason that I asked is that my son and I were looking at all the rides that US/IOA has to offer and there were just so many that he was excited about. Plus we love to go on our favorites over and over again. We don't really go the commando route and we would like to enjoy everything that the park has to offer. This will be our very first visit and although we enjoyed Universal Hollywood and have been there numerous times, from what I've read I don't think it can compare Universal Orlando. I can't wait!

I think three days to cover it fully. A forth if you have the time could lend to a more relaxing trip with resort time, etc. I think you need one day for each park, and the third to go back and hit shows/rides that you missed or want to do again.

I think four days is plenty. We stayed four nights during Presidents' week and we did Universal and IOA, the Magic Kingdom, MGM Studios and EPCOT!! Obviously, we have done these parks before and only hit the highlights at Disney, but at Universal we were able to do everything we wanted in two days - using FOTL, of course.

I think you have enough time.

I have to agree. I think 4 is plenty. However, I will be spending 6 this summer so that I can enjoy the resorts and atmosphere as well.

Assuming you have been to WDW before - this is how I would spend 14 days. 2 max at Magic Kingdom, 2 max at Epcot, 1 Seaworld, 1 Animal Kingdom, 2 Universal, 2 IOA and 1 both Universal/IOA, 1 Busch Gardens, 1 MGM if time, 1 shopping/other.

Now I'm thinking that I should stick to the original plan. Actually, this is our first time to WDW too.

SpideyHulk- I do like your idea of spending the additional time to enjoy the resort and atmosphere. I like to take the time to enjoy the smaller things in life.

Hi Dory,

Last Aug. we were US/IOA for a week and really enjoyed it. We didn't have to rush........ we just took our time, and with fotl, you can ride as much as you want. We loved the RPR, and truely enjoyed the hotel, the pool, the entire "polynesian vacation" feel. We went to citywalk, and we saw the shows, we just had such a relaxing time. We went to Disney for 2 days prior, and had a day off in between, then on day 4 at US/IOA me and my little one took another day off completely and played at the pool. We also took part of another day and went to the HUGE McDonalds....... no, I don't recommend you do that!!!!!!! and we shopped and went to Ripleys,............ skip that also. FAO Schwartz was neat. You will have a great time. Enjoy it!!!

Spend as much time as possible there. We were there 4 nights last August and I feel like we missed so much. I just returned from 3 nights at RPR which was perfect but we had also been there 2 times prior and had seen alot already. DS isn't tall enough for the coasters so we skipped many things plus we didn't ride any water rides. We never have made it to the water areas of either park during 3 different stays.

The longer you can stay, the more relaxed you will be while visiting the parks. You won't feel like you have to rush around to get everything in. As others have mentioned, you will also be able to relax and soak up the atmosphere at the resort and enjoy everything Citywalk has to offer. You will be able to ride your favorite rides again and again and enjoy all the shows and some fabulous meals at in park restaurants and those in Citywalk. I would love to stay for a week or longer but so far I can only manage a 5 day trip in May. Not that I am complaining! I just got back but I can't wait to go again!

Alrighty, I'm convinced! I'm going to add a day or maybe even two to our stay at the RPR.

Wow wendypooh, a week at Universal sounds great Wish we could spend that much time too. Oh and I didn't know there was an FAO Schwartz nearby.

And themepark, because it is our first time, I kinda felt the same way you did about not wanting to miss anything. And we also love riding our favorites over and over.
