How many days?

We haven't been to Universal Orlando Resort in 5 years. We are looking to return next summer. How many days should we stay? Last time we spent about 2 1/2 and that was okay. We stayed at RPR so we had the express pass privilege included. Is 3 days enough? Is any amount of days ever enough?

Three days staying onsite should do it. I'd add in an extra day so you can tour in a relaxed manner and spend some time at your resort and Citywalk too.

The extra day is good idea. We started planning a couple of extra days to our Disney trips just to hang out at pool and do some shopping.

Nope! :rotfl:

It really depends on your family. Everyone is going to have a different opinion...some won't go back to Universal, some say a day or two is more than enough...my family? We usually go for 6 days, and would be ecstatic to have 6 more!

depends on your family. We do 4 FULL uni park days and stay onsite for 7 days

We have always gone for four days and it is never enough for us. Our next trip is only for three days and I am already worried about how hard it is gonna be to get see and do everything we want.

If we're in the parks 2 days (1 for each) that's enough for us, 3 days should be fine in your case

I agree that it really depends on your family. We usually plan our vacation length first and then figure out days - whether Disney or US. (We used to do both parks, but it became too expensive). We did 6 park days our last trip two years ago and it was great. We did full days but the parks closed at 6pm. We had express pass, though we didn't really need them for when we went. We're planning on 6 days for our next trip. (Four will have express but the other two won't). If you're trying to squeeze in things other than US/IOA and don't want to give up more than 3 days for it, then that will likely work well.

It would depend on if you are going before or after King Kong opens and Hulk reopens, which will bring more traffic into the park. Staying on site with the Express Pass though 3 full days is enough to ride everything once and Express Pass rides twice, see the shows and have a half day at the pool. But at a brisk pace. For the more leisurely of vacations 4 nights during the summer months which is half day day one 3 full days and one half day on the day you are leaving. It also depends on what you ride. When I go with my one of my brothers who is 6'8'' and can't ride on any of the rides with over the shoulder harness or Rip Rocket we can get through everything in a day in a half. When I go with my super thrill riding friends it takes us 2 and a half days to ride everything (we skip kids rides (woody woodpecker, barneys show and all rides in Suess landing.) However we do take an hour out of our day to do fear factor as my friend has to try out for the show every time we go. He even won once!

Gah! This is me! I'm stressing before I even leave for vacation about not having enough days to do everything that I want to do. Hence.... I'm already planning for next year. :-)

We went for 2 days and were able to do a lot, but we plan for 4 days next time. We don't want to feel like we must cram everything in. We want to be more relaxed and be able to take our time and maybe do some things more than once.

Thanks all, can hardly wait for our next trip. I need a vacation right now.

These threads crack me up. 2 days! 5 days! 14 days! I had the same question but clearly there is no good answer. :)

I have 8 1/2 days to spend in parks. Thinking 2 1/2 in Universal and 6 at Disney. But maybe I should make that 3 1/2 at Universal and 5 at Disney. Either way it'll be tons of fun.

We're two adults and always do a split Disney/Universal trip. We usually head over to Universal about 2-3pm on our check-in day, which gives us the rest of that afternoon and evening. We then do Universal the next day and IOA the following day, and leave that night. So 3 days/2 nights is good for us. We did 4 days/3 nights on our first trip which gave us more time to use the pool and amenities of the resort.

We have 7 days that we can do Universal in September. The other days we plan on SeaWorld, Aquatica and Bush Gardens.
