15 Days till Spring Break at the CR

We are down to 15 days and I am starting to get a little worried about our choice in CBR as our resort, we are in a Trinidad South Pirate room. I am hearing a lot of bad things about the resort lately, this is our 1st WDW vacation and don't want to have a bad experience at the resort, between construction and the long walk to the OPR part of the resort. Any advice or suggestions?
