How many days in Universal?

Hello DISers! I am starting to plan our trip to Universal which will be in November of 2015. Yes, this may be early but I have off from work right now so I have the time to start the prep work.

Anyway, the last time I was at Universal was in 2010 and we only went for HP. We spent one day in IoA, doing all of the HP stuff and Suess World. The rest of the trip was Disney.

The focus of the next trip will be Universal. I want to stay on property and get to the both parks. The focus will be HP, but I want to see the rest of the parks as well. Here is where my question comes in.

It will be my hubby, my daughter (who will be 10 at that time), and myself. My hubby can't really take rides (he was green when he got off of Forbidden Journey and the Cat in the Hat ride made him dizzy). I can tolerate some rides with Bonine, and my daughter is just getting starting to do the crazy ones. She doesn't like anything that is very high or goes upside down too much. Neither do I! She may be able to do the simulators but I don't know. With that in mind, how many days do you think we will need in Universal? Both HP areas will be priority, but I want to see the rest of the parks as well. Do you think two days will be enough?

Three and that will give you some resort time. We have used the express pass on previous trips and it only took two days and that was at a leisurely pace. With the new HP section we are adding a little extra time.

So you think we will still need three days, with EP and even without doing the "crazy" rides? I should mention that we will be there for the second half of "Jersey Week"- Wed- Sun (or maybe Monday if I can swing it). I was thinking... if we could do Universal in two days, I would plan a day at MK so we can do the Mine train ride (and all of our other favorites!).

I would think you would be able to see pretty much everything in 2 days. On our last trips, we had the park-to-park tickets they used to sell at Costco, and we saw almost everything we wanted in both parks in a single day. Granted, we did not spend tons of time in HP section.

You can do it all in 2 days. I prefer 3 days because I like to have some relaxation time, as well.

Thanks everyone! I don't why I am even stressing over it bc both of our trips to Disney were short (5 nights and 3 nights) so we always had the attitude that we'll do what we can and we'll be happy about it. I think I will plan for two days at Universal and one at MK. I really want to ride the new Mine train coaster!

We won't go to the park the day we arrive (did that in Disney.... never again if I can avoid it!) so that first day could be spent at the hotel and city walk. We also won't go the day we leave bc getting back late and going to work the next day sucks!! Been there, done that, too..... never again if i can avoid it!

I'm sure I'll be back over the next several months as I continue to plan.
