When you go to Disneyland, how many days in the park/s do you prefer, and why? I am trying to decide and having a hard time with it?

1 day,
2 day hopper
3 day hopper
4 day hopper
5 day hopper
Etc....

For our big trip every summer we do 5 days. My husband gets sick of it after 2 days. I could do the whole 5 days by myself. We take mini trips throughout the year though 1 day here or 2 days there.

I prefer as many as possible. We go about 3-4 times a year. Usually for 5 full days or 6. This Sept. will be short only 3 days. Hope I survive! But then in December for 6 again! How many you will need depends on what time of the year you are going, if it is busy, and what pace you want to go at. I like to have time to not rush all the time!

Typically we do anywhere from 3-5 days. A short trip for us would be 2 days, which we've only done once. Last year we went for 5 days, it was a ton of fun, but we were soooo tired at the end! LOL Were doing 3 days this year, well 4 if you count the first day, we plan to spend in DTD and hang around the pool. And 3 full days in the park! I'm hoping it's enough!

Really I think it depends on the time of year and how busy the parks are. We can do a lot in 2 days say in October. July needs at least 3 days!

We're from out of state so it really doesn't make sense to do less than 3 full days at disneyland. We actually do a minimum of 5 days, with our next trip 8 days long. Dh, dd(8), ds,(5) and I love disneyland so we don't really ever get bored with it. A minimum of 5 days allows you to reride the rides you like and watch all the different shows and parades without having to feel rushed. We can take afternoon breaks to swim or rest back at the hotel.

Thanks guys this really helps. I am going in October from the 2nd to the 9th. I am really considering 4 days. I just hope this is enough time for a first time person. This is the first trip EVER to Disneyland. I'm a newbie at this but totally EXCITED!!!

We did a four day hopper which worked out well. I really could have used an extra day though to just go around all by myself and look. I really did not get to see a lot of the shops and stuff like that.

It is so hard to choose and no matter how many days you pick, you always feel like you will run out of time to see everything, plus you just never want that last day to come and the magic to end. I always get so sad on the last day!

We're AP holders, but prior to that we'd normally do a 4 day hopper, occasionally 5. I think that considering the time of year you're going, a 4 day hopper should be fine and allow you to see most everything. If nothing else, you can get the 4 day and upgrade to a 5 day on your last day if you feel you didn't get to do everything. :)

I was also wondering how many days to do DL next May. We're not completely sure if we're going in April or May yet until we get DD's school schedule.

We are going to the L.A. area to visit friends and old neighbors (we're from there). We're starting with the San Diego Zoo and stopping in DL and finishing up in Santa Clarita (where we lived and friends live).

Can we fit that all in a week? Already searching for flights at that time of year and so far the #'s are $350+ per person. Is that reasonable right now?

Thanks,

We were there last week on 5 day park hoppers. I thought before I left that it would be plenty of time, but I could have used more time to enjoy everything. Of course, it was a very busy time of year, so other times of the year 5 days or even less might be fine.

We used 7 days of our 8-day hoppers (spending first evening at DTD and dinner at Goofy's Kitchen instead of going to parks) and it took us until the very last day to accomplish EVERYTHING on the park maps at least once. We did, however, do all the rides my DS7 loved multiple times and stopped for three sit-down meals (Rainforest, Ariel's Grotto, and Minnie & Friends) during park hours. We also fit in the additional things not on the map like stopping for lots of characters, watching Mickey climb the Matterhorn, doing the Junior Chef thing one afternoon, doing the red-carpet premiere of POTC on Saturday, etc. Not once did we feel bored or wish we hadn't booked such a long trip.
