How many days for Universal?

last june we did it all at universal in less then 8 hours. park opened up at 9am and we left around 4:30. we seen all the shows, tram tour, and rides including twice on jurrasic park and mummy! ohhh and ate lunch at louie's too, they have some good pizza there, be sure to check em out.

I was actually a bit disappointed with Universal.

Aside from Jurassic Park and The Mummy, there really wasn't a whole lot we were interested in with regards to the rides that is. I think we spent about the same time there. Left late afternoon/early evening. Got there when the park opened.

Had a really nice dinner at Hard Rock...which was fun....the shops were neat too and we saw "Waterworld" which I recommend.

I do NOT however recommend "Van Helsing", especially if you scare easily. We consider ourselves a pretty brave family and I about crapped myself walking through that...the girls got really scared and we had to take the emergency exit. Just something about live people jumping out at me in the dark...its a little unnerving to say the least.

I just got back from a trip to So. Cal which included Universal. I've been there several times before, and one day is fine. As long as you get there early, one day is fine, 2 days is waaaay too much.

Van Helsing is now just a Universal monster / horror house, it's like a haunted house walk through. If you're traveling with wheelchair or scooter bound members the walkthrough is probably not a good idea, it's possible but may be dangerous since it's dark, and there's unpredictable teenagers inside which scare easily.

They're pretty strict about bringing in outside food and drinks, so hide well. Disneyland is very laid back with this policy, we have not had any problems.

Depending on health and age of you members, must sees include:

Water World show
Terminator 4-D show
Shrek 4-D
Tram Tour
The Mummy
Jurassic Park
I like the special FX show
The Simpsons ride is so-so, but it's new so check it out.

We went for two days in March, basically during Spring break. We ended up spending two full days there, and I'm glad we did. We thought we'd end up spending one full day and one half, but we ended up spending that second day as a full one. We got to see every ride and show that we wanted to (which was everything except Mummy.) They closed at 6:00 or 7 while we were there, though.
Edited to add, there were crazy lines when we were there, for everything! Food, snacks and rides and shows. We had to wait through two full cycles for Backdraft and three for the sound stage.

Normally I'd say one day. but with the fire might be less

actually they re-opened the tram tour. but the back to the future sqaure, NY city Square and the king kong part of the tram tour were lost in the fire.


It will be uber hot at Universal. of if your lucky june gloom

Along with everyone else, I'd suggest a day. DH and I had the park done in a little over half a day with low crowd levels.

And Mom of three, if I would have seen the emergency exit, I would have had a whole new (shorter) experience! DH told me it was just "horror movie sets." So wrong on so many levels. I was a mess.
