going to WDW in May 14-21.YEAH!!!. We are first timers and unclear how to plan. My husband and I have girl Meagan 6 and boy Owen 4. Meagan is a mature 6 and Owen is a young 4. Plane landing in orlando at 3:15 on the 15th. Figure we will get to POR by 6:00. Not sure if we should do or what to do the night we get there. On our last day plane not leaving orlando until 7:30pm. so have most of thet day as well. I figured during our week I would spend 2 days at MK,and 1 day each at Epcot, AK and MGM. We are not doing other outside parks this trip. This woyuld leave us time to relax at resort and add additional time at parks we liked. How does this schedule and what have other peoples experience with young kids been in relationship to time spent in each park. Also what about the fantasmic show at MGM-good for children. Thanks Deb

It sounds really good to me. I'm not sure about your arrival though, you said you would be there the 14 -21 but that your plane arrives in Orlando on the 15th? Anyway what we like to do is take it easy on our arrival day and relax at the resort, then have dinner at Chef Mickey's. It is a great way to start out the trip. You could try to get a PS for around 7:00 maybe? On our last day we like to schedule a late flight out of Orlando and go to the MK for one last visit before we head home. For your kids ages the MK will be the best park so you are right in spending most of your time there. Most important relax and have fun. Take time to smell the roses and enjoy your trip.

Hi!

My last trip to Disney World we (DH,DS3,DS7,DS5 and me) spent 1 day at each park. We found that it wasn't enough time, so this year we are planning to spend 2 days at MK, 2 Days at AK, 1 1/2 Day at Epcot, 1 1.2Day at MGM and 1 1/2 day at the Water park - I know we still won't see everything but we will have more time and not be too rushed

Have a great time!

We are a family of three who are major park commandos. We did each park in one day except for Epcot because we skipped the World Showcase to go to MGM one last time to see Fantasmic again (my fault), MK took one day and MGM took one day.

AK, on the other hand, would have taken us two days if we wanted to do it all because the day we went (Monday--never again) was crowded and that day was extremely hot and humid. We spent most of our time at the Conservation Station and Petting Zoo. I think that if it wasn't so hot and crowded we would have been able to do it in one day.

Just wanted to comment on Amirah95's comment on AK; it is always supper hot and humid there especially in the summer months. The park becomes almost unbearable after noon so be prepared for that. It is very important to hit AK at opening and get in as much as you can before it gets to hot! I have been to this park many times, in fact I love the park, but it has always been miserably hot & humid!

We got there at 8am but when we were allowed to enter people were already in there because of the EMH so that there was a disappointment (that was my fault for scheduling like that but I learned my lesson). Around noon, after the Bird Show everything went down. I'll go back again, but I'll be breaking it into two days.

this Aug we're planning on (3) 1/2days at MK, (3) 1/2days at AK, (3) 1/2 days at MGM and (5) 1/2days at EpCot (not counting 2 lunches there)

the rest of those 1/2days will be spend at Pop, WL, BCV, Poly & BW pools

I think AK can easily be done in 1/2 day with kids that young. MK might require some additional time. We always like to do a 1/2 MK day at the end to do our favorites over. Epcot could take two days if you want to do a lot of the things in Future World. We like to take World Showcase leisurely to enjoy it and explore at our own pace. It's a nice break from the usual theme park atmosphere at the rest of WDW.
