How many days do you go on solo trips for?

I am planning my first solo trip for next year. I live in western Canada so it is a long ordeal to get to Orlando so I usually stay 10 - 14 days. I usually go to WDW about every 4 yrs. But solo - that might be too long. For all you experienced solo travellers out there - how long is too long? At what point do you get lonely? Or do you? I also want to do a day or two at the Darkside.

Wow, you usually go for 110 days? That does seem a bit long! My last trip I stayed 12 nights. By the last couple of days I had blisters on my feet and I'd gotten sick, so this time I'm going for 11 nights and hope that will be just the right length.

You can arrange meets with other people from the Dis and that way you don't have to be alone the whole time (unless you prefer to be).

Whoops, I meant 10 - 14 days! Yes, 110 would be WAY too long! Edited my post. Funny, I got terrible blisters my last trip also. I really hope to meet others from the Dis when I go. I have only ever stayed at POR but I MAY try POFQ although I think the pool and food court are better at POR. II will likely only do 1-2 TS meals.

LOL, at least with 110 days there would finally be enough time to do everything. But yes, that would be way too long, if you're not actually moving there.

Actually I think 10-12 days would be just about right. :thumbsup2

I've got a ten night trip coming up in a few weeks...my first solo and hopefully a good balance to see and do all I want...including just pulling back and enjoying been there...and its Florida...there has to be a little pool time.

Personally, my solo trips are about 4 or 5 nights. But, I'm coming from the east coast, so travel isn't as much of an issue. In my case, its more balancing the vacation time I need to take for the solo trip so that I have more left for family vacations the rest of the year. I find with solo trips that I don't need as much time as with a family trip as I can set my own schedule, omit attractions that the rest of the family may not be interested in, ride single rider on some, etc. Plus I tend not to do table service dinners, so that opens more park time.

My solo trips are also in the 4-5 day range, I would like longer but with vacation time and budget this seems to work for me.

I agree with this. 4 or 5 nights is good coming from east coast. If I was paying a lot for airfare, I would want more time since it would be less frequent. I too, need to budget family trips or that would give DH a reason to balk:thumbsup2

I've only done 1 solo trip, but I did 4 days, including travel. But it's just a 2 hour flight for me so that's not a huge deal.
I left home 10am on Friday and was walking in my door at 3pm Monday. For me it was perfect. I have two little ones at home that I needed to get back home too.

I'm already planning my next solo trip next fall and plan on doing the same plan.

After much experimentation-I find my perfect trip starts on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday-6 nights, 7 days. I find the weekends crowded...but I am a quick 2 hour flight from the mouse. If travel was an ordeal, I would def. stay at least 10 days-14 if going to the Dark Side...

The simplest answer would be, whatever I can afford. ;)

But, I am doing my 3rd solo in October. So far they are only long weekend trips. Thursday-Sunday. I wish I could do longer but it just hasn't been in the cards yet. This trip is more of a "work" trip as I am running the ToT 10 Miler.

Looks like for those of us who live far from WDW, around 10-12 days is good, while those who live closer and can do more frequent trips may be happy with around 4-5 days.

I did 9 days once and it was too long for me. I even went to Universal one of those days. Now I find a 5-6 day trip is good.

I used to like to come in on a Sunday because of MK EMH, but now they got rid of that, so the next solo trip will be different.

My 1st solo trip is coming up in 9 days!

It's for a total of 8 nights, Saturday through the next Sunday. (6 nights at Pop and 2 nights off-property, using some comps I have through work.) And wishing I had more time! This was all I could afford financially, and what I could get approved to take off work.

A 10-14 day trip sounds like a DREAM to me! :cloud9:

I normally spend about 5-7 days on my solo trips (I take about 4 a year) My favorite trip, which I call my Epic Adventure was last summer :cool1: was 14 days. I still get happy when I think about that awesome trip. I had all the time in the world to walk around, take my time and not feel rushed. It was great

As a PP stated, I like to stay from Sunday - Saturday. six nights
Quick 2 1/2 hr flight......

I have done as few as 3 nights and as many as 7. I come from the West Coast though, and most of my solo trips seem to be 4-5 nights (simply due to work constraints). I think 5-6 nights to be the magic number. I find 3 nights too few but I wish I could stay 6 nights more often. By the 7th night, I am missing my DH and my DC (dear cat)

I'm doing my first solo trip at the end of the month. It will only be for a weekend...Fri-Sun. I wish I could do longer. Hopefully in the future I will!

I've found that my "sweet spot" is 6 nights - that gives me 5 full park days, so I can (if I want) hit a rope drop at each park and still have a "repeat rope drop" at the park of my choice on my last day. If I was going to parks outside WDW, I'd want a couple more days. I only have a one-hour time zone change, and about 5-6 hrs travel time including flight connections. 10 - 14 days sounds nice, but by the end of my trip, I'm generally satisfied and ready to get back home and to "normal life."
