We are planning a trip for next July... and always stay in WDW, but this time we wanted to venture over to Universal... how many days to do both parks with out rushing and still see everything? (mind you in July.... crowds)

there are quite a few active threads about how many days do i need for touring UO.

here is one of them

july is always hot and busy.
stay away from the weekends and start the day early before the gate is opened.

hth !

i reread your question.

you are planning to visit one year from now.

i just can't answer your question completely.

crowd patterns can change in a year from now.
different events can be scheduled which would impact crowd levels in the parks.

just plan like you would for disney.
it will be hot and crowded.
eat at off time periods.
go early, take breaks, stay til closing.

I last went to Universal in 2008 (before HP opened). We had the ticket that you could "hop" between the parks each day. We spent one full day in Universal; one full day in IOA; and the last day was spent between the two parks - hitting the rides we may have missed and hitting seconds/thirds on rides we loved. Three days was just enough for us (2 adults, 2 12-yr-old) - any longer than that and we would have been bored. But this was before HP opened. HTH!

ETA: we went in mid-August so I can't help with July crowd levels

:thumbsup2

thank you both!!! (actually hubby just said he would rather in Oct...)

I was thinking the 3 day park to park ticket, was the way to go... just wanted to make sure we could see everything...

october is better weather wise and crowd wise than july is.

a 3 day park to park would work fine.

avoid the weekends in oct, stick with m-th for lowest crowds in the park.

park hours are shorter in october.
you do the park all day and in the evening hit city walk or chill in the pool.

We were just there last week and from our experience I think 3 days would be just fine. That is staying all day for at least two of the days and a wrap up day for the third.....we did not go on the weekend days though. Saturday and Sunday we did Sea World. Also it was hot but we were prepared with wash cloths in a plastic zip bag to wet and wipe ourselves with, lotion and whenever we needed a cool place we ducked into a shop. Also we got out to the parks early to take full advantage of the of the cooler weather times of the day.

Or head over to the Studios for HHN.
