How many days at the parks?

It’s been over 30 years since I’ve been to Disneyland and there have been some massive changes in that time. I’m in the very early stages of planning a trip for approx Nov 13-18, 2022 before we go to northern part of the state for turkey day. We do need one day to see some friends up near Malibu, but otherwise, we’ll be at the parks. How much many days should I plan for? My kids will be 8 almost 9 when we go.

I know that many posters say that they spend 2-3 days in the parks, but since you’re traveling from North Carolina, I’d get 5 day park hoppers. We live in Pennsylvania and have found that in addition to the travel time investment, having more days allows us time to rest when we need it but also allows us to make sure that we get to see and do everything we possibly can while we’re in California.
Every time we’ve been to Disneyland, I’ve always tried to enjoy as much as possible because future trips are never guaranteed. 2020 certainly reinforced that.

We fly out to CA every 2-3 years to see family; so there will be more time to visit Disneyland in the future. I’ll look into 4 day passes since we need a free day to visit friends.
