How many days at the parks and how long do you stay?

I'm in the obsessively planning stage (there should be a twelve step program for this) :rotfl: Just wondering how long everyone is planning to stay and how many of those days do you spend in the parks? We'll be there mid June-think HOT- I really don't want to do a bunch of parks. But I'm wondering what there will be to do for my 13yr old dd. My 10 and 4yrold DS's won't be a problem, bike riding, fishing etc. My boys love to camp but DD is a resort kinda girl if you know what I mean :rolleyes1 She really loves the pools ar DW, but FW pool looks faily plain- nice but plain. We have a pool so a plain is no biggie. I guess we'll have to consider the water parks. :cool1:

We will be there January 5th- 20th. The weekends on Friday thru Sunday plan to be our stay at the resort and relax days. The first weekend is the marathon and the second weekend is MLK weekend.
Otherwise we hit the parks early and late, and swim in the afternoons, in january your best bet for swimming is from noon till 3pm because it is chilly otherwise.

We like to go for a week. Would go for longer if we could...maybe someday. This year we are staying 8 nights, 7 days :cool1: We usually go to the parks everyday and take 1-2 days for water parks, swimming, Downtown Disney, etc... :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We are going the middle of June also, we are going for eight nights. Last time we went we had the ultimate park hopper that went with staying at a resort so we went to the parks everyday. However, this time we have park hopper no expiration for seven days, so we are planning one down day in the middle of our stay to relax and maybe go to downtown disney. I like these new tickets because I don't feel the pressure to go everyday to get our money's worth like I did before. If we get there and it is just too hot or to crowded to enjoy we may even spend another day or two at the campground and save our tickets for another time.

I just have to say to this, I agree!!

Ok, for your original question: our next trip will be 8 days/9 nights at FW, and this will include a day to do NO parks of any kind, but just to enjoy FW and relax a bit. Our 7-day MYW passes will include extras we can use at the water parks (and my DS8 really wants to see DisneyQuest!), so we will spread our days out a bit between parks and other activities. If your DD is a shopper, there's always DTD!!

We really enjoyed Blizzard Beach. There is a nice young kid's area, and plenty for the others also.

We will be camping for 10 nights. We have APs so we just do what we want when we want. Sometimes we might just pop in to a park for a little while, go in for mornings only, or we go in for evenings only. It just varies as to what we want to do each day. Fort Wilderness is so wonderful that you definitely want to have time to enjoy it.

We go to FW every February, the last 3 years we stayed for 18 nights. We usually go to the parks 2 days and water parks 1 or 2 days. There is so much to do beyond the parks, we visit other Disney resorts, Downtown Disney, We enjoy pool at FW. ride bikes, and just relax.

Our next trip will be June 11 and will be staying for 7 weeks (51 nights). We also have annual passes so usually wait until extra magic hours at night and go to that. I can't do water parks yet as all of mine can't swim and I am not going to let the 3 that can loose in a water park as they are 10, 8 and 8. We stay in the campground during the day riding bikes, swimming or trying to get up a game of kickball somewhere. I have found that if there is a bunch of kids playing in the campground others will just join in. I am sure there will be something for your dd to do. Enjoy your trip and maybe we will bump into each other!

PS: Most of my campers are girls and would be horrified if I suggested somewhere else other than the campground! They are definately not resort types!

NHcampers, I'm thinking we'll be doing just that. One or two days of parks, water parks for a couple of days, and the rest non-park stuff. I'd like to look into the captain's plan for renting water mice as DD is old enough to drive those.
