My family staged an intervention on me today.
My husband and daughter sat me down and told me that the time had come for me to clean out the coffee mug shelves (yes, plural). They said I have to admit my problem and begin to do something about it.
So I am here to say:
My name is Lovetoscrap and I am addicted to coffee mugs.
It started innocently enough. It was a great souvenir for a trip.
A coffee mug to make me smile each morning as it reminded me of where I had got it. Hersey Park. Great Wolf Lodge. Disney. Caymen Islands. Cruise ships.
But then locations began selling regular mugs AND travel mugs. I had to have one of each!
And then there are those places that I go that sell their travel mug and if you have one you get your coffee free or discounted in the future--you HAVE to buy one of those!
But sometimes you forget to bring it with you.
So you have to buy another one.
My last two sets of dishes have had AWESOME mugs with them! Not those cutesy dainty "teacups". MUGS. Real mugs. They are great for coffee or soup or tea or hot chocolate--especially for my kids, since I won't let them use my souvenir mugs!
And have you seen the mugs Disney sells??? One for each year!
Different ones for each park!
Ones for each character!

You must have an entire set, you know.
And we won't even talk about the refillable mugs I have to buy each trip (cause we all know that you can't bring them back and reuse them
)
Look, I'm not stupid.
I know that I have way more coffee cups than I could possibly use-- so some of them are just for display!
On a shelf in my dining room.
and. . . On a shelf in my bedroom.
and. . . In a display cabinet in my bedroom.

DD13 took ALL of my "everyday" coffee cups out of the cabinets. All the ones that are not considered "display only". And she counted them.
53
(that didn't include the one in the dishwasher or the one next to my computer)
Apparently my family things that a total of 53 (55) Coffee Mugs is too many.
Especially since I am the only one that regularly drinks coffee in the house.
So anyone want to help me out here???
How many coffee cups/mugs do you have in your house for actual use?
