How many bottles of water will we need?

We are going to Disney for 5 nights. It will be DH, DS4 and me. We are on the DDP. We all like to drink water. Not huge amount but its a our preference over juice too even my DS4's. So realistically how many 1/2 ltr bottles will i need. Will a 24 pk be enough or should I carry a another pk? I am not sure what to do. Anyone else has this calcualted out? I somehow cant drink regular orlando water as it is very yucky [no offense]. So any ideas?

Ice water in the parks is free. Just go up to any counter service and ask for it. Take a sport bottle and just keep refilling it.

We just bring in one 12-oz bottle per person, drink it when we want and then refill it at the fountains they have everywhere.

I pack two 1/2 liter bottles per day per person, and use the lanyards that hold water bottles. We are a family of 4, and I freeze 4 bottles the night before, and take 4 chilled bottles in the lanyard, and 4 frozen in the backpack. By the time (after lunch) we need the second set, they are nice and cold. DH says the frozen water bottles make the backpack easier to carry as well, LOL.

We live in Florida and are used to the heat and humidity. If you aren't a FL resident (or a similar climate) you might want to take 1 extra per day, just to keep yourselves hydrated, as this weather can sneak up on you quickly.

That's exactly what I do. That way, you get ice cold water (better tasting and colder than the drinking fountain water, IMO) and only have to have one bottle per person. You don't have to lug around extra water, and you don't have to stash anything in a locker.

Keep in mind that if it's hot and humid, you are going to need a lot more water than you are used to back home this time of year. I find that I drink close to double what I normally drink in the hot humid weather.

I usually bring a bottle of water with me in the morning, and if I want more, I'll buy some in the parks.

I would get two 24 packs. If you get one you will have 4.8 bottles per day between 2.5 people. We drink it in the room, especially overnight and also bring a bottle each every time we leave the resort. But we hate Dasani, so we rarely buy it in the parks. When we do it gets a crystal light on the go pack in it.

Not to sound like a jerk but how does anyone know how much water your family will drink?

Well considering water is $2 a bottle in the park, even if you don't use them all you are still saving money. Each person in our party grabs one on the way out the room in the morning and again when we leave to go to the pool. The cost of 1 bottle * 4 persons * drinking minimun 2 a day we are saving money every day even if some go to waste at the end of the week. We don't carry extra and just buy when we run out, but just supplementing with our in room water is just so convenient.

In July, we generally drink 2-3 bottles per person per day. We ordered ours from Garden Grocer--one of the smartest things we did.

Instead of worrying how many bottles of water I needed, I packed a water filter pitcher. Then we could have as much as we wanted. We filled it up in our room, refilled our water bottles. Used the glasses in our room and always had as much as we needed...just a different approach to the same problem. Oh, and we used Nalgene bottles to carry the water which were very sturdy and easy to fill. And, if we needed to fill them up in the parks, as others suggested, we just got some ice water from the CSs. If you are worried about not liking the taste of the water, you could get the single serving sized drink mixes. They have everything from sports drinks to other flavored drinks in premeasured packets. Very handy.

We have 3 people in our family. I have bought 2, 24 packs for the last 2 vacations of 10 days so depending on how much you like water I would say atleast 1, 24 pack.
