did your school system have and how are they made up.

We had 4 snow days. Well it may have been 3 snow days and one way below zero day. We have 5 days built into the school calendar so get out 1 day before the last built in day. Basically with no snow days we got out June 13th. With 5 weather cancellations it would be June 21st due to the weekend so our last day is now June 20th. We Start the week before Labor Day and have a week off in Feb and April etc.

I lost count how many days they actually used this year. I want to say 8 or 9. I know they have 2 days built in and had 2 days excused and will be going a week longer than the first planned. They had a couple of make-up days built in that were also used. For whatever reason, they had graduation planned a week after they were suppose to get out, so that date didn't change.

Graduation is June 6 and the last day of school is June 5.

In Western New York here and we had I think 4 or 5, and one of those was a COLD day, not snow. We get 7 before they take away time off and then it starts with Easter break then February break. It doesn't change end of year time. We run Day after Labor Day to nearly the end of June. I don't ever remember having a day taken away from breaks, or even 5 snow days before and I've lived here my whole life.

I lost track of the days off too. January was exceptionally bad. In fact, I think between Christmas break and snow/cold days they were out of school more than they were in. The state (indiana) "forgave" some of the days. We had, I think 4 days built in. We went to school on otherwise traditional holidays, like Presidents Day, They added one day to the end of the year, and we just had school TODAY to make up another. They can't add any more days to the end of the year without pushing back graduation, so they decided on Saturday school.

If I never see another snowflake again, it will be too soon.

We had a whopping 12!!! 5 built in, 2 made up (one at Presidents' Day and the other tacked onto the end of the year) and the rest thankfully forgiven by the state through a waiver. The last one out us short for the number of hours required which is different from the number of days and so we are making the hours up by having 2 1/2 days become full days. Thankfully we have our whole spring break intact. Many others I know in other districts were not so lucky.

I'm in southern Ontario.

We had one cold weather day (windchill well below -40C). That was it. No snow days at all! And even though we had a ton of other cold days in January and February, with windchills around -40C, they didn't cancel any other than that one.

We don't have to make up any snow days. I've never heard of that happening here, so I'm guessing our school year (194 days) is built assuming there will be some.

We are in northern WI and actually most of our 'snow' days were just due to the cold and we only cancel if it is -35 or colder. The week we were in Disney (first week of Feb) was our first full week of school since before Christmas break. So at least 6. We had 2 built in days, we have already made up 2, we are making 1 up the day after Easter and we currently have a request in to be forgiven one day at the end of the year. Hopefully that is approved or we have one to make up at the end of the year.

I am in Northern WI too! We had 6 I think. 2 built in and now done on June 12 I believe. The district will not allow us to make any up early because of the size of our district. They say it is too difficult to organize.

We only had 2. It was a slow year for us. Everything went south of us. We are in northern New England. We have 5 scheduled normally. Last year we used more then 5 and had to make days longer for the last two months because they had no room at the end of the school year.

We missed 13 for snow and 1 for no electric. We had the 5 built in days plus the additional 4 Ohio forgave this year. The rest were made up by going to school on President's Day and losing our spring break.

We only had 1 day here in Omaha. Almost had a cold day but the kiddos were already scheduled to be off for semester break day so teachers still went in. We normally have 5 or 6 built into the calendar. We go by hours for the year rather than days so if we run out, what we've done in the past is to turn any early release days into full days and then add about 10 minutes to the day until the rest of the time is made up. Kids are out by Memorial Day and go back in Aug. While I enjoy snow days off, I'd rather have less snow!

We had 14 snow/weather days this year in our district in Kentucky. We were originally supposed to get out of school on May 22 and now we have to go until June 6th. Our state put out new legislation for this year that the last day for schools in the state is June 6th but of course that doesn't apply to us even though we have missed more school days than some other districts. We start school before many of the other districts in the state.

We had 5 or 6 from what I remember. They extended the year and we now will be in school until June 25th.:scared: After the last day off, we were told that any additional days would have forced the kids to go to school over April vacation. Luckily, we didn't have any others.

I for one would have no problem with one week off in March and eliminating both February and April vacations. Use the extra 4 days as snow days or get out earlier if not needed. I know it won't be a popular opinion, but February days off are basically a waste unless you plan to vacation then.

This is the schedule in Ontario. School runs from the Tuesday after Labour Day until the end of June (our last scheduled day is almost always the last Thursday in June - so this year it's June 27th). We get one week off in March. Other than that (and 2 weeks at Christmas) there are only regular stat holidays + about 4 PD days. No half days/early release days either.

We had 3.5 and when I scheduled our flights, I allowed for 5 so we are still okay (though last year we had a snow day in May). This year all of ours were added to the end of the year. One year we did have some days off that were marked as make-up days, and we did use them, but normally they are just tacked onto the end.

Next year it sounds like we will be counting hours instead of days, and I read that this will make it easier to determine the end of the year when there are snow days. I'm curious how this will work- maybe they are scheduling more hours than needed, so we won't have to make up anything for the first so many snow days? I don't know, but I would love being more sure about the last day as I like to schedule vacation ASAP after school gets out.

We had 9 weather days. We don't really have them built in per se....they just take away other vacation days like President's Day and Spring Break (week before Easter) to make them up. They had to tack 3 onto the end of the year as well. Thankfully we don't have to make up delays, we had at least a dozen of those as well

We didn't get hit as bad as even just an hour south of us. I can't imagine how many we would have had if a few of those storms tracked further north and resulted in more snow days.

Eleven! Xmas break ran for an extra week this year, and then we had an extra week's worth of scattered days.

My kids are in different schools (the little one is in public school, but the older one is in private HS), so the schedules are different. The HS cancelled MLK and President's Day closures. The public district kept those but cancelled parent-teacher meeting days and things like Field Day, and shortened Spring Break for a day (they were to have Friday plus the following week; they lost the leading Friday.) The private HS got a few days excused by the board and has delayed the end of school by 2 days, the public district has pushed it back a week. DD will have her last day on May 30th, a day after her brother's last exam.

The public district has also decided to start school a week earlier next fall, so as to make room for add'l instruction time for continuing students. (That is going to cause resentment in my house, let me tell you: DD already was teed off that her brother got an extra week of summer. An extra two weeks is going to send her through the roof. Not to mention that he will be a senior, so he will finish a week earlier in the spring as well. :headache:)
