How many AP holders book a Free DIning package?

We have had AP's for many years now, but to my surprise after crunching the numbers we came out ahead to book a FD package during our 2 week F&W trip. Curious if anyone does this and how it works out for you. Our plan is to save the 2 day PH tickets and use their "credit" to go towards renewing our AP's next summer. Would love to hear others who have done this!

We have done it many times over the years. Have always then used the 2 day ticket for passholder renewal. Love the Free dining offer, makes good sense for us over other discounts. Thought I read that the years offer might have required more days on tickets, but would still work out the same for renewal.

Can I ask you what do you do with the 2 day tickets before you renew? Our 2 day tickets are already showing up on MDE. We don't check in for that package until Oct. 25th. The CM said at that time of check in, those 2 day tickets will then become active and that I must go to guest relations outside of a park before I ever use them. I must tell them to then make sure my current AP's will then be put back as top priority. She said then those 2 day tickets will then stay good until it's time to renew next summer. Is this your experience?
Also, do you just keep the 2 day tickets on your MDE until it's time to renew or do you have guest relations take them off and put them on hard tickets? Thanks!!!

We just leave them connected to MDE. We make sure that the AP is the priority ticket so that we don't accidentally use it. Any ticket booth can check this for you. Guest relations is a good tool, but most of the time, the ticket booth itself can take care of it. We renewed at a booth with the 2day ticket on our band without issue.

That's good to know! So when you actually go into a park and tap your MB, it'll show the CM that it is an AP you are using? I never knew that! I will be sure when that package starts to make sure my AP is priority. Thank you so much!

It will show if there is a problem. You can check at the ticket booth before you enter to make sure that the AP is the one prioritized if you think there may be an issue.
