How low can a guy's pants go?

I was driving down the street in Trenton this afternoon when a young man started to cross the street in front of me. He was wearing "pants" that he was holding up with some kind of strap handles, one in front, one in back. These "pants" sagged down to the point that they began at the hem of his brightly colored boxers. Seriously, he was actually walking in public in his totally exposed undies dragging all this "pants" material that did not begin to stay on his body without him holding onto these straps.

Is this a new trend? Of course I have seen the underwear-baring baggy pants on guys for years, but this get up was way beyond that. I can't believe anyone would buy such a thing for their kid.

Another thread I was scared to open

Maybe he was REALLY proud of those particular boxers.

LOL! One of my brothers and a few of my cousins went through this phase.

My aunts and mom would walk up behind them and pull their pants up. My Uncles always did this to the point of giving them wedgies!:p

It is a phase..but that seems a bit extreme.

Oh god, you have NO idea how many boys I see at my school dances like that. I think it's really...odd.

I mean showing the top brim...well...can be attractive. I don't know why, but the whole thing is digusting.

Take that from a teenager. ;)

LOL! I had a camper like that last week at camp. I kept raving about his boxers, which prompted him to pull up his pants.

This was big awhile back, then it seemed to be going away, but now looks like its back and even "lower" than ever.

Don't get it. Never have, never will.

My son has been guilty of this fashion statement for years now. Not quite as bad as the original story but bad enough for me. He's 21 years old....if this is a faze..please tell me when it will be over!!

His sister is getting married next year and he overheard us talking about the open bar and the reception. He was pretty excited about that....
My daughter came back with the perfect response.....the bartender will have explicit instructions to only serve people wearing their pants at their natural waistline!!!!

He even thought that was pretty funny!!

What's really bad is when the person's not even wearing underwear! A month ago I was in a Chinese takeout waiting for the food I'd ordered when a man walked in with his pants halfway past his butt. All my brother and I could do was stare whether we wanted to or not.

haah dont you love driving through trenton?? i live about 20 min from there and am somewhere in trenton all the time..i know what you mean!!

Seen a few high school students running around like that. One was on a serious spree to try to get me to overreact to his antics and did a wiggle that sent his to the floor twice in one day. First time I quietly told him to go to the men's room and get himself dressed. Second time I wrote him up and he spent a few days in indoor suspension. Next time he had me as a sub he was wearing a belt to hold them up.

I see guys dressed like this all the time, in high school and in college. It's just not attractive...isn't there a reason it's called underwear??

I have a nephew who wore his pants like that until I showed him an article I read about the originality of that trend. Since that day, neither he or his friends wear their pants like that.

:worship: princess: ::MinnieMo ::MinnieMo :cutie: :cutie:

When I see them with the low pants I want to walk over and yank their pants up. I can't stand that look. But I have some friends who really like it (only on certain people I think). I say EEEWWWWW.

Droopy lowriders are banned at our school, dances, prom, etc.

What's really gross is driving down the road in the summer and seeing all the old men mowing their grass, jogging, etc. shirtless - their "man-****ies" flying in the wind!

There is a boy I run track with, also gos to 'my' school, and his pants...well...I thought he was bad. Perhaps he should INVEST in some straps though. He's 14, and I swear the but of his jeans DRAG on the ground. Not only that, the boxers arn't even at the right place. *shakes head* why not just wear some shorts if you don't want pants THAT bad? Oh wait..they do it with shorts too...do they think they look ATTRACTIVE?? If my boyfriend ever wore his pants like that...I'd kill him...or dump him. Preferbly the second. Luckily...he doesn't!!

And they really think it's cool... about as cool as wearing your hat backwards.

I read recently that some malls around the country are implementing dress codes because of these "fashion" trends and I agree with them 100%.

I guess I'm a little too old fashioned - I'll go away now...

Could you please PM me with the origins of this "fashion". My sons wear the majority of their pants/shorts like this and I hate it! I comment on the boxers constantly, but it just ends up pissing off the older one and the younger just laughs and hikes 'em up to his chin and walks around like Urkel until I tell him to put 'em back down! Maybe if the origins are bad enough they'll quit doing it.

oh yeah, a lot of my student athletes wear their pants hanging down on their hips.... especially the football players who are into weight lifting... they want to show off their new muscles

I laugh and tell them "you're going to trip, pull up your drawers, I don't want to see your butt!!!" they just giggle back and attempt to pull them up a few inches!:teeth:

Ahh come on, the "plumbers butt" look has been going on for years. I'm trying to think about that Saturday Night skit with Bill Murray and Gilda Radner. Hilarious.

Some girls wear the low cut jeans. The entire look for the guys and gals is unflattering.
