How long will RSR FP's last?

Can anyone give me an idea of how long RSR FP's are lasting these days - how many hours after park opening? Just trying to figure out if it's worthwhile to go straight for a FP on our arrival day (which I estimate will be about 2.5 hours after park opening, on a Saturday in September), or whether to leave it for another day and instead ride or get FP's for Soaring or Grizzly River Run instead. Especially as the plan is to enter through the GCH entrance.

Also any estimate of the return time at that point? We will be off a 14 hour flight and I anticipate an early bedtime so if it's going to be in the evening we'll get FP's another day. Thanks.

11am you should be safe. 12pm you are cutting it close.

Toy Story Mania should be your first attraction priority.
If you want a chance to ride RSR twice then get a FP first thing is the morning and then again at 11am
After Toy Story do some of the other attractions in Paradise Pier. With Screamin, Fun Wheel, and Goofy as priorities. The others won't have that long of a wait all day.
Grizzly and Soarin should try to be on or done by 10am as they will not need a FP before then.

Download the new app or call Otto to see if they're still available as you're approaching.

SMD ~ Where do you find the attraction FP times on the DL app? That is the one thing I have not been able to figure out. I was hoping it would show the FP availability as well.

Otto, the phone info line gives you both wait and FP return times. You can reach it at 1-714-520-7090.

In the previous app it was displayed when GPS showed you were near the parks. I haven't checked the new app, but when Disney announced the app they said that info was in there, so I imagine it's the same.

The new app does not contain FP return time info, yet.

If you get the RSR FP between 10:00 and 11:00 am (and earlier will be better - FPs have been running out by 11:00 a lot of days lately), you'll probably wind up with a return time after 7:00 pm. According to the Lines app, at 9:30 am this morning the return time is 5:15 pm. Note that the Lines app is not always reliable about that, but it's probably reasonably close for RSR.

You can also try downloading Mousewait. It's updated by users who are in the parks. Look at it during various times of the days before your trip to get an idea of how the wait times and Fast Pass supplies are looking. Some days, if not a lot of people are entering information, the times can be a bit off. That's why it's good to starting looking at it for at least a week before your trip to get an idea of how things are trending.

Thanks for all the advice - I have the new app but can't see any FP information on it. I'll be trying to limit phone calls/data use due to being from overseas and the cost, so think I will just assume the RSR FP is not a good idea for that first day and wing it with other attractions. We have 3 full DCA days planned during the trip so plenty of time to ride RSR then.
