I'm ordering diapers off amazon today. I got my ebates money in along with me having a credit on amazon.com from when they messed up one of my christmas orders. So for about 100$ (less 20 because of the GC with order) I'm going to get 150$ worth of diapers (buy 99$ worth of diapers get a 20$ GC) :thumbsup2 But it's been so long since I had a newborn I dont remember how long they were in size 1. I know by 6months all 3 of mine where in size 4's. Should I order 1 box of 252 diapers of size 1's or 2 boxes of them? at 10 a day 1 box is almost a month's worth of diapers... were your newborns in size 1 longer than a month? My son was on the bigger size. I'm pretty sure he was in size 2 in less than a month :headache: I'm thinking 1 box of size 1 and 2 boxes of size 2. If I need more size 1 I can just buy them right? :confused3

My almost 7 week old DD basically skipped the size 1 diapers. I used newborns on her for a few weeks and bought a pack of size 1's about a week ago. They fit, but not well. I much prefer the size 2 diapers. I wouldn't buy more than one package of the size 1 diapers unless you will use them from birth instead of the newborn size (which are supposed to fit to 10 lbs, but there's no way I could get them on my DD!).

my son was almost 9pounds.. newborns didn't happen for him.

popcorn:: subscribing because I have my shower coming up and need to know how many newborn and size 1 boxes to keep

If all your other kids were in a size 4 by 6 months I would buy 1 box of size 1. My DS was a preemie and he wore size 1 for many many months.
The sizes overlap so you do have some give time to finish up the box.

dont buy too many newborn diapers... at most you'll need 3 small packs of those unless you have a VERY VERY VERY small baby. I dont plan on buying any newborn diapers this time around. Just size 1 and 2.

My first 2 were in size 1 for quite a while. They were small though. I think they were in newborn diapers for the first month but I use more then 10 a day even now on my 2 yo but that is me, I change when they get wet.

My 3rd & last child on the other hand was the smallest at birth but grew the quickest. She was out of size 1 at one month.

I'd probably get size 2 or 3 with what you have because that will be a safe choice.

FTR, my children weighed at birth 6 lbs, 13 ounces, 6 lbs, 5 ounces (I think) & 6 lbs 2 or 3 ounces. The first 2 didn't hit 20 lbs until they were 2 & my 3rd hit 20 lbs at 1 year.

DS was 9 lb 5 oz so we skipped newborns. We had actually bought a few packs so we gave them to a friend who's little boy was only 5 lb.

Our DD has been in size 1 diapers for about the last 9 wks. She's now 15 wks old and will probably only be in them for another couple of weeks. So far, we've bought maybe 5 packages of 88 count size ones between home and daycare in the last 2 months.

She weighed 9 lbs when we started them and is now up to 13 lbs. It really depends on the size of your baby, their weight and body type. She happens to be tiny that's why she's been in them for so long.

.

We've been out of diapers with my son since he was about 23months old  Even then we were only using 3-4 a day. I guess we have big bladders in my house

Okay so 1 size 1 and 2 size 2 it is.. I still can't believe I'm going back to diapers in a few months. I'll cloth diaper at about a year because I have them from my son. This is my last or I'd stock up on cloth diapers for a newborn til 1 but I think it would cost me more than pampers. ;)

My son was fairly big (8 lbs. 7 oz.).

I used NB about 2 weeks until his cord fell out (they were shorter so I didn't have to worry about it rubbing. He was in size 1 about 3-4 weeks. He was in Size 2 until about 3 months old. I exchanged MANY unopened packages of diapers.

My kid was a moose. He was born at 9 lbs 1 oz, came home from the hospital at 9 lbs 4 oz and gained a pound a week for the first two months. I had a 17 pound 8 week old!

It has been a while but I recall buying very few small size diapers. I would not buy an economy size box of them.

:scared1: OMG a 17 pound 8 week old! :worship: I bet your arms were in good shape from carrying him around!

The upside was that it kept me from being paranoid about breaking him. I had NO baby experience. No baby siblings and had never even changed a diaper until I took him home. His ruggedness was a godsend even if it was murder on my back. :) I never actually did drop him, but I wasn't terrified about him shattering into a million pieces if I did- which probably is why I never did.

My son weighed 9 lbs 13 oz at birth and totally skipped newborn diapers. He was in size 1 for only a few weeks before we had to move him to size 2. At a year old now he's getting ready for size 5 (He weights 26 lbs). My daughter was 7 lbs 15 ozs and wore newborns for about a month. I actually used pampers size 1-2 on her and she was in those for awhile (Not sure why I didn't use size 1). Now at 3 (we're working on potty training but that's another story) she wears size 6 (only at nights) she weights 35 lbs.

:lmao: I feel your pain. Ever look at them and just want to say, "Geez, kid. Are you planning on wearing diapers to your wedding?" I had a serious case of, "Are we there yet?" with my late trainer.

That's funny, my James was 9lbs 5 oz as well ;) I think the only newborns we used were the ones that came in the new baby pack, went straight to size ones.

My 3 month old is in size 3. We skipped the 2s because for some reason, we never got any of those at the shower. We had plenty of 1s but by 2 months, he was out of them and he weighed in at 14 lbs 6.5 oz and was 24 in long. That means he's 95% for his age. Now, the 3's were a tad big at first, but we traded a bunch of the 1s for them and used the 3s we already had here. They fit great now and I suspect in about 2 months, we'll be switching to size 4s. I would get a size 1, 2, and 3. I mean, you're gonna need them all at some point anyway. Good luck with your pregnancy too!

My latest DD was 6lbs 13oz she wore two boxes of the swaddler size 1s. she is now 9 months and wieghs 21lbs 8oz and has been wearing a size 4 for 3 months.

Do you need to order the diapers now or can you wait until the baby is born? I would order conservatively since it really depends on the size of your baby. I had a big baby, a small baby, and one in the middle. My second baby was 9 lbs, 8 oz at birth so we never used newborn diapers on him and he grew out of 1's pretty fast as well! My youngest is 18 mos and just now starting to wear size 3's - he's a peanut, just hit 20 lbs last week. He was 8 lbs at birth, so I never would have expected him to be small, but he is.
