How long to wait for info?

Hi, everybody. I received the video from DVC, and it sure looks good. So, I called on 2/27 and talked with a guide (Judy Kaufman) and requested the "real" info package-you know, with pricing and so on. Then I found this board. And the info I've been reading here is great! But, so far, you are my only source of info. No package of info yet from Disney and it's been almost two weeks. I'd like to get the stuff so I can make my arrangements--I'm buying at the Villas! Will Disney overnight the info to me (hey, I'm even willing to pay a fee for the mailing service)? Is two weeks plus a usual turnaround time and I'm just being Disney-crazy? Thanks from a newbie (and a wannabe DVCer).

Sorry, Kay, I can't answer your question about the time it takes to get the information from Disney. I took the tour at BWV while I was there in Jan/Feb. I decided to go for a resale at OKW. That is just where I wanted my home resort to be.

I just wanted to welcome you to the boards.

I've learned so much here and everyone is so very nice and helpful. I know that you will get whatever info you need. Not only do you have these boards but there are also frequent chat sessions. Every Sunday at 9:00PM EST there is a DVC chat. You will see a thread on this board about it every Sunday and there will be a link to the chat room. Lot of people with a lot of experience.

As everyone will tell you, just do your homework before you sign on the dotted line and this is a great place to do part of the homework.

call Judy (1-800-827-7163) again you should have received some information. See if she will fax you the details. But they use to have send that package so that might be the problem. Sorry Judy is generally on the ball and gets back to you really fast.

According to her voicemail, Judy will be back on Wednesday. I finally decided to call for extra info yesterday. Bette is out til next Monday, the 2nd guide I contacted was also out til next Monday, then I tried Judy's number and she is out until Wednesday. Then I called the main number and got Shane, when he looked me up, he said I was assigned to Ron back in 1997. I don't even remember requesting info in 1997, but they had my office phone number...so my request for additional info was yesterday...I hope it is sooner then two weeks...the tape came in less then a week when requested from the website.

When I requested the brochures and video I believe I had the materials within 10 days. I later also requested BW purchase & sales agreement so I could read the fine print on a DVC contract. This also took about 10 days to receive.

I requested the info last Monday. Our guide faxed us the financing info and point chart for VWL. I received the video and book on Saturday. We actually decided to go ahead and buy before we received the info.

Here's an update. The responses here made me sure something had gone wrong, 'cos I seemed to be the only one waiting this long for info. And I saw other posts here that my guide Judy was a good sort and responsive. So I called and left a message for Judy today that I hadn't gotten the book yet and asked if I could get it sent overnight. Judy called me this evening and was very sweet and apologetic. She explained that Disney's been having some problems with their mailing contractor and it appears I'm not the only complaint they've had about not getting the info. Judy will FedEx the book to me so I should have it on Thursday. Based on the info and numbers I got from this board, I know I want to buy. That's why I'm so anxious for the info. I need all the fine print so I can throw money at the Disney folks! Thanks again. I'll be back with more questions. Kay in No. Virgini
