How long to wait for Dec airfare?

Flying from Detroit to Orlando..how long would you wait to book December hoping it will get better?? Dont want to wait too long I know but should we be grabbing something now even if its not exactly what we want? Our dates are 12/16-26. We want 12/17 but for some reason its a lot more than the 16th

you should find the other threads on here with your same question-I believe they all say the same thing- you should be looking and booking now. I already have for the week prior to yours....fares are rising

I am in the same boat. We wanted 12/15 out of Buffalo, but for some reason 12/14 was a lot cheaper, so we are going a day earlier unless the 15th comes down. We are also returning on 12/26 and haven't booked the return flight yet as they are near $200 each and there are 14 of us going - I keep checking every day and don't care which airline (although I am booked on the 14th with Southwest). I guess I'll give it another month or so, and then I'll start panicking if they go any higher. I'll stay a day longer if I have to!
