How long to I really need to be there before my flight and other ?'s

I'm flying Delta out of Cleveland. My mom said that they don't have skycaps anymore. Is this true?

I have etickets and found out through Delta's website how to do that. But then where do I check-in my bags? The ticket counter?
If that is so, then why not just get my boarding passes at the ticket counter?

Sorry, it has been a long time since I've flown.

And, how long does it take to get through security? We'' be flying at 9am this saturday.

I plan on taking snacks and drinks, but will they let me take the mini airplane sized vodka bottles too. I'd rather not pay airline prices.

I would allow at least 2 hours to get through everything at the airport. I would rather allow extra time then be worried that you will miss the flight.

I am sure that Delta has information on their web site about each airport. I know here at PIT you can no longer do curbside check in but there are still skycaps to help you bring your luggage inside.

Yes you could just get your boarding passes at the counter.

No, you cannot bring your own alcohol on board to consume there. Their prices are really no higher than anywhere else.

When you go to the e-ticket check-in there will be someone there that will take your bags anbd check them for you.

That's a very busy flight time, I would plan on being AT the terminal (not the parking lot, not the access road, but walking into the terminal) two hours before your flight time. Better safe than sorry!

You can bring your own snacks and drinks (it's only a three hour flight, so you wo'nt need anything more than a light snack--you'll have breakfast before leaving home, and will be in Orlando by lunch time!) As far as the bottles of vodka--you can NOT drink your own alcohol onboard. My friend had her mini-bottles taken away from her and returned after the flight, but I wouldn't even count on that these days...

I guess I was getting a little nervous. I'm a planning freak and I don't like surprises.

From what I remember, the prices aren't that much more than a bar, you're right. See, I was just getting nervous. Trying to plan a little too much I guess (and save money).

We have a lay over in Atlanta, so we'll eat lunch there, I guess I really don't need to bring much to snack on. I'm just so used to it from the kids being little, but the youngest is 8 and I guess we really don't need snacks.

Thanks for the baggage info, makes me feel more comfortable. This way I won't be wondering around and wasting time (and nerves).

I guess I just need to take a chill pill !!! Maybe I should have that vodka now (darn, it's only 10:14am) But like my uncle says, "It's gonna be noon somewhere!!".

we just flew delta out of boston and into providence. Our outgoing flight did not allow online or curbside checkin but in MCO we used the kiosk with etickets. There iare attendents there to ticket your luggage. In boston they took them right there but in mco you had to then bring them over to be scanned. Both airports were a breeze and we were thru security within 10 min.

I would like to preface this by saying I DID NOT DO IT!

I was on a flight to Las Vegas and the nice couple next to me ordered OJ from the flight attendant. They then took out a bottle of water and poured some of it into the OJ. I would bet money that the "water" was actually Vodka. I thought it was too funny! Of course, you might have to drink straight Vodka. I have heard that security sometimes makes you take a drink of water bottles to prove it is water.

We've always brought alcohol onto the flights and never been questioned. My husband usually brings vodka in a little flask and we've also brought the little bottles. Why can't you bring it? We've flown twice since September 11 and never been questioned about it.

I've seen that too. When we went to Cancun (pre 9/11) a young couple next to us pulled out a flask. I thought "Boy, what a money saver". But I didn't know if things have changed.

I'd probably get too embarressed if I was asked about it, like I looked like an alcoholic or something. I guess I'll just buy the airline booze.

Bringing your own booze has always been against the rules.
The fact that people are not caught does not mitigate the rule.
I think part of the rule is to have some control over how much pax drink, there is NOTHING like a drunk at a mile high.
