I was thinking today about how much weight I have lost and how much I still want to lose to reach goal and it got me thinking how long it would take. I am 20# away from my original goal, but I think I would like to lose 25# more and if I do it the safe way and take the holidays and my next 3 vacations into consideration, I think I could reach my goal by my 1 year WISH anniversary on February 18th. That would be a total of 58# on WISH and 68# total loss for me. It is a little slower than some of our losers, but I am hoping by taking it off slowly that I will be able to keep it off forever.

How about you, how far are you from goal and how long do you think it will take you to get there?

Unfortunately since I have so much to lose I am really not very close to my goal and it is going to take a long time to get there. :(

I started with well over 100 pounds to lose (probably close to 125-135) and I have only lost 34 so I am guessing that I still need to lose 91-101 pounds. :( I try not to think of the big picture because it is depressing. It took me 4 months to lose 30 pounds so if I use that as a baseline I am looking at being close to goal in about another year. I would love to be at goal by my next wedding anniversary on May 24th which is possible if I really work at it but if not then I really want to be at goal for my birthday (Sep 3rd) next year when I will turn 29! :)

Well so far it's taken me just over 4 months to lose 52lbs which is beyond my wildest dreams.

My goal is to lose the final 38 by Xmas but I'm not pushing it so fast now. I just want to carry on losing at a rate of 1-2lbs a week but get rid of the flab by toning it all up, so if that slows the loss down then so be it.

I still have 109 to go, so if I can average a 2 pound loss per week, it should take me around a year to lose the rest. I know that I'm in this for the long haul, so I don't focus on the big picture too much yet. I am setting smaller goals that I can reach in shorter time frames. When I get a few of these accomplished, then I will really be on my way!!!

As I was reading all of your posts, it really hit home what wonderful life improving changes we are all making! I am so thankful for WISH and all you terrific people!!

I have 10lbs to go till goal..... and I am hoping to get there before my trip in October...so that is a little over 8 weeks.
My loss has been slow and I understand why, so I am trying to make some positive changes to get there.

Good luck to everyone and keep up all the hard work!

Becka, you are doing a wonderful job, 34# is a fantastic accomplishment! Please don't sell yourself short by saying I "only" lost 34 pounds, you should be proud of what you have lost no matter how much more you want to lose.

And I echo what Kamy said, good luck to everyone and keep up all the hard work!

I have the weight in before thanksgiving set as my goal date. That's 1.82 avg for the rest of this leg of my journey. I believe i can make it but i won't be heart broken if i don't make it till the end of the year. I agree with Elise this is a journey and we are 3/4 of the way there so it's time to tone up and look fab at the end of the journey and it's gonna take some time for that too. So i'm in no hurry now. We've all come so far.

my personal goal is to get down to 130...that would give me another 30 pounds to go.

but i would honestly be happy to be back down around 145 and then i'll take the last 15 pounds slow if i have to.

i've lost 10 so far!! and my goal is to be done with my loss by the end of this year. we'll be moving into our brand new house early december (i hope!) and our community will be perfect for walking. it's a small community right now, but by the time it's all said and done, we will have 800 homes in our community. perfect for nice long walks...:) we've decided that while atkins is working for us right now, once we reach our goals, we hope to SLOWLY phase out of the low carb diet and EASE into a low fat diet with lots of exercise. while i've done well so far with atkins, i don't think that this is something i can do forever...

I have my goal clippie, but that was for my pounds lost goal. I still have the "get a very flat stomach" goal and it is going to take me until the end of the year or maybe even next March (a year from joining WISH). That's ok with me though! I'm having fun on the weekends...maybe too much fun! If I could just go a whole month on my plan without any indulgences, then I'd get to my goal quicker, but I am really happy with the slow progress I'm making. No rush for me, I will get there eventually!

DH is in 34s now and would like to be in 32s by Christmas. That's our goal date for him anyway, but if he can get into 32s before then that would be great!!! He does great with his eating during the week, but weekends are a bit tough and this last weekend was a doozie!

Hi there - I started on the 12th of May 2003 with a goal to get down to 130 - need to lose 70 lbs.

As of today - 8/11/03 I have lost 27.4 lbs, so I still have 43.4 lbs to go. I don't really have a time frame in mind - I'm happy if I lose anything each week (would like to lose btwn 1-2 lbs a week).

I have lost 19.8 pounds so far which puts me at 159 right now.

My WW's goal is 132. I only want to make my WW goal the very top of my range. That leaves 27 more pounds till my WW's goal.

Personally I would like to get to 125. This would leave 34 more pounds to loose till my personal goal.

Until last week I was averaging about 2.4 pounds per week. That is including my larger losses at the beginning. I usually average about 1.5 each week.

Last week I lost nothing (even thought I was on track and didn't cheat), and I swear that I will be close to loosing nothing or maybe 1 pound at the most this week. I hope it's at least a pound this week so I don't feel like I am not moving.

To get to my WW's goal, if I only loose 1 pound per week and taking in to account my vacation I am probably looking at around 3/8/03. I know that I could do it much quicker if my body gives me more than a 1 pound loss per week, but March 2004 is more realistic.

Becka -- ditto what Tiggerlover said...losing 34 pounds is a VERY big deal, regardless of what your goal is! Losing even 1 pound takes a lot of effort. I know for me, those mini-goals really make a difference and keep me motivated.

As for me, my total weight loss goal is 50 pounds, for a goal weight of about 130 (I started at 180.5). So far I've lost 10 since June 18th...I probably could have lost more, but I had a couple of set backs, including a bad cold that I have right now. However, when I think about it, 10 pounds in less than 2 months isn't shabby, considering that I probably gained that 10 pounds in more time than that in the first place!

So I need to lose 40 more to get to my goal weight...according to my weight management plan, if I follow it properly, I should lose 2.5 to 3.5 pounds each week. Looking at my log, the weeks I did follow the plan to the letter, I lost either 2.5 or 3.5 per week! My goal is to lose the remaining 40 by the end of this year.

lost 16lbs last fall - kept it all off over the winter
lost another 15lbs since May 19th
have 4lbs to go but Im getting too comfortable - I need to push to get to goal
Have 12.5wks before our MAGICal cruise - that may be part of the reason Im slouching - I know I have time left - but oh wouldnt it be nice to be there now? (the weight and the cruise?)

according to my wonderful spreadsheet from KathyTX, I should hit my goal the week of Nov 9. shoot - i was hoping for sooner so I better kick my butt into gear! Last week I entered a 3 lb gain, so hopefully that will be gone and that will put me on a faster track.

I really wanted to be close by the first weekend of Sept.

I'm glad that spreadsheet's working for you, Molli!:p It's my little reality check...

I'm only 9 pounds away from my WW goal, which puts me at the very top of my healthy weight range. At the rate I've been going, it'll take about 5 weeks to get there. I've been averaging 1.5 pounds per week.

Where I really want to be, my true goal, is at the bottom of that healthy weight range. I have a small frame somewhere under this extra padding, so that's realistic and healthy for me. That's another 35 pounds away, over 80 pounds from where I started... That will take until the beginning of the new year, or approximately one year from the time I started WW and WISH.

That seems like a long time, but I'd LOVE to start the next new year a healther and trimmer me!
