How Long to Get New Driving Licence Card?

My driving licence card needs replacing next month. DH replaced his online very, very quickly (a matter of days) but my passport is too old to use the same method that he did.

So has anyone got any recent experience of how long it will take if I go to the Post Office. The form says 3 weeks but that seems a bit long. (And inconvenient as I want to use it next week for id - but then it doesn't give me much time to renew before it officially expires.)

I would like to know too as both hubby and mine are due to expire in a couple of months, and there's no way I want my passport photo on it (it's hideous )

MY husband went to the post office to do his.
Think we went in on a Wednesday and he got it back the following Thursday-so it was only about 1 week

Yes I did mine through the post a little while back and it took just over 7 days.

Thanks, that's great news. I won't worry so much now about hanging on to it for another week before renewing.

(Mind you there is always the chance that mine will be the one that takes ages - I did the check and send for a passport from the same PO a few years ago and they didn't even notice that I'd missed out a whole section on DD's passport and it took weeks to sort out!)

Both DH and I did it a few months ago and it took just under a week.
