how long will it take to eat at ohana? we want to watch the fireworks after, either from the poly beach or maybe even going into the park. this will be our first night.

Agree that an hour and a half is about right. We really enjoy watching the fireworks from within 'Ohana itself. I wanted to make sure that you knew you could watch from inside the restaurant. They even pipe in the audio.

Couple of different things you have to factor in.

First, the timing at Ohana is tricky because people tend to linger: the periodic entertainment, the way the food is served with constantly circulating servers tempting you with 'just one more piece', and the whole atmosphere contribute. I'm sure Disney tries to keep a handle on it because they don't like angry guests, but sometimes ADRs do get backed up. So sometimes you get seated right at your ADR time but sometimes you wait half an hour or more.

Second, as a prior poster noted, you can see the fireworks (and the water pageant) from much *but not all* of the restaurant. If you are going to be seated no more than 1.5 hours before the fireworks, explain at the podium when you check in that it is your first night (first trip? other special celebrations?) and ask for a table where you will be able to see out the windows. Then if you are still there when Wishes start they do dim the lights and pipe in the music, and you get a pretty good view.

Watching Wishes is always great. Watching Wishes with a bowl full of bread pudding and bananas foster sauce in front of your face is beyond great.

BUT - do make sure you get into the MK on another evening. From Ohana or from the Poly beach you don't get a great view of MM&Y, the light show on the castle about 15 minutes before Wishes. It is absolutely not to be missed.

I would recommend two hours to be safe. Typically it is an hour and half, but I have been there for two hours or longer as well.....

I agree with TisBit, account for 2 hours.

When we go it is just DH and myself and it takes and hour and half. This is usually at 5pm. But the time we had a later adr (7:30) it took 2 hours.
Ohana tends to be a bit on the slow side and the later in the evening it worsens.

So you would need to decide where seeing the fireworks is important and go from there.

I agree, two hours to be safe if you want to watch from the beach. We're going on a night Wishes is at 9:30, and I didn't feel comfortable with out 7:50 ADR, so now we're at 6:40. Later in the night, you may have to wait 30 mins after your ADR time before you get seated ,then it's at least an hour, maybe an hour and a half to eat.

we can go at 5:10 or 6:25. i'd like to keep it at 6:25 if we can, because i think 5:10 is a bit early. is 6:25 fine?
