How long to close a contract?

Maybe I'm just being impatient and super antsy (ok I definitely am)...but about how long does it take for a contract to close once it's been received by MS? I spoke with my guide several times (poor guy) and last Wednesday he said it would be a couple more days and today he said "any second".

Since you spoke to your Guide, you must have bought direct from Disney because Guides don't have anything to do with resale points.

Since you bought direct, why do you care when you close, you can book a reservation as soon as you pay your deposit.

You are already in the system, you don't need to close. Get a new Guide.

Maybe not but the Guide knows that you bought and the fact that DVD is backed up doing their paper work isn't your problem. FYI, you will close long after you are in the system and already booked. Usually you can make a reservation the same or next day after you pay your deposit, even before you sign the contract. I would tell him that you want to speak to his manager.

Oh I did make a reservation with AK right away...I just wanted to switch it to GF as soon as I could. It's no big deal really, was just curious if first time buyer contracts tend to close sooner than listed as the estimated date on the contract.

When we bought AKV it took about two weeks to close because they have to wait out the 10 days you have to change your mind. We got our member number before that but our online access after closing

Things must have changed then, when we bought, we were in the system that afternoon, our Guide made our first reservation for us that afternoon and we were given website access the next day.

Same here...2 weeks makes sense, just have to be more patient I guess ! I was able to book a reservation right away and got my member kit with card shortly after, but still waiting on the closing to have access to the website.

I don't think the problem is using the AKV points the problem is they can't actually sign on the GFV points until the AKV points close because they have to already be members to buy there at the moment.
OP: I would guess that your guide will try and get your contract for AKV through as fast as possible since members buying in don't have to wait for closing to use their points- in fact we paid our deposit yesterday and will be mailed our contract sometime next week to sign and we are already booked at GFV for the fall.

Yep that's right ... Should be any day now and then as soon as it closes I'll be a member/get the member rate for financing and can purchase/book GF.
