How long to check in on 1st day of free dining?

How long do you think it will take to check in on first day of free dining for the general public? We'll be at ASMu and should be able to get there by 8:30 or 9:00am. I know our rooms won't be ready yet, but how long of a line do you think there will be? Anybody have stories from last year, checking in first day of free dining?

August 26 was the first day for general public. UK and bounceback people had earlier dates (Aug. 5th, I think) Not sure when it ends exactly. sometime at the end of Sept.

I believe Free Dining for the general public ends on September 22nd.

Last year we checked into POP the first day of free dining and it was crowded. It took about hour and 1/2. We did arrive later around 1pm and I saw many people arriving from the airports. You're arriving early, so I think that would be better.

We were at ASMO last year on the first day of FDP. We actually arrived the night before for a night of room only. I was in line at about 7:30 am to pick up my cards for the package. The line was not long at all and I had no trouble. I'm sure it is a hit or miss thing though.

I don't think that "free dining" would alter check in at all. Think about it...resorts are at capacity alot of the times and check-in is hit or miss at those times.

Just because there is a "Free dining" promotion, that doesn't mean that the resorts are sold out - only the rooms that include free dining are sold out.

Although we never went during free dining time, I would imagine that check in would run as smoothly or as not as smoothly as it would on any given day.
