Hi! My husband and I have been to IOA before, but not to Harry Potter. We are staying one night at Universal in order to get early entry and do as much as we can fast, because we have a dinner reservation at Contemporary Resort's California grill in DW at 5:35 PM the same day.

If you were trying to make this reservation in time, which also means checking into Wilderness Lodge and quickly changing into nice clothes before dinner, when would you be sure you were driving away from Universal. Does it take long to get your car from the valets at the Universal hotels?

There are no other dinner times available for California grill the entire time we are there, and it is a really big romantic deal that we go - anniversary, etc.

Thanks,

That's a hard call because so much can happen. You could run into heavy traffic or there could be a line to check in at WL.

I would leave by 2. You need to travel to WL, check in, change clothes and get to the restaurant. Are you driving to the Contemporary?

I've never used the valet.

With no traffic, I figure travel time to be 20-25 minutes between UO and WDW. Traffic is a big variable though, and could easily double that minimum time.

I think the PP's suggestion of 2:00p sounds good and would virtually guarantee you get to CG in time.

hopefully you won't have to wait until 4:00 for your room at WL to be ready.

i had a long wait once before and it totally screwed up my schedule......
