How Long Should We Expect To Wait In Line At The National Car Rental Desk

I am a bit hesitant to join Emerald Club through the Mousesavers link, as it does not give me the secure "golden lock". With that being said, we have a reservation in July to pick up our car on a Saturday.
Just curious if anyone out there can tell me how long the wait will be for the National Car Rental Desk. Hoping it is not terribly long, as we will be anxious to get to our resort.

It depends on the day of the week and the time of the day. I can be as little as 5 mins. or as long as one hour.
You have to do what is comfortable for you, but, I have yet to hear of anyone having any sort of identity theft from signing up for EC even without the golden lock.

While I didnt worry about the EC sign up, thats your decision. Are you married to National? I like them as well but used Thrifty on my last trip and signed up for Blue CHip - shuttle was very fast. The wait in the normal line was 30+ minutes, no one in Blue Chip - I was out in under 5 minutes.

I have used them on my last 3 trips and have never waited more than 5 minutes. We usually arrive mid week and around 10 am. Also..another trick I read here a few years ago...When we get off the plane my husband goes to get the luggage and I go to get the car, then I at least beat anyone who is waiting for their luggage before heading to the National counter. Have a fun trip.

I joined through Mousesavers and have had no problems.

Just something the OP may have missed at mousesavers.com, becuase it does say:

"The online registration does not look as if it goes through a secure server, but don't panic. The portion of the page that contains the form IS hosted on a secure server. Thanks to Eric L for pointing this out."

When I signed up a few days ago, I got a page to print that had a picture of a card with my number on it. I'm not sure if it would work at the booth though. You might call National and ask them.

Thanks! I called to confirm before I read this, and that is what they said. I am all signed up, reserved and ready to go! Woot!

Now I just need to find a place around home to board my bird and I am all set.
