How long of a wait at Beaches and Cream

We land on 9/22 around 10:30, our plan that day is to go to the hotel get checked in hopefully, rest, swim, etc then head over to Epcot or MGM for a bit them to Beaches and Cream for dinner. Now today I decided to try and book an illuminations cruise and I actually got it Now, she said to be there at 8. I am wondering how much time I need to give us for Beaches and Cream. Do you think if I arrived there 6 that would be enought time. I am catching the boat at the beach club and I think Beaches and Cream is there as well so that is working out great. Where is the yacht/beach club marina in respect to Beaches and Cream. This is going to be a surprise for my family and I would hate to have to ask for directions and give it away to soon.

The marina is closer to the YC, but is not a long walk. You might get a half hour wait at Beaches and Cream at six, maybe longer. It should take 45 minutes or so to eat there, giving you plenty of time to get to the marina.

when you check in - tell them you would be willing to sit at the counter if that is faster - we did this and didn't have to wait as long

they have the best burgers on property!!

Yeah, when we went last October, we sat at the counter and there was no wait. If you guys are a big group, try The Kitchen Sink. I've never seen so much ice cream in my life lol.

We had a twenty minute wait at 3:00 in the afternoon - and then had the great disappearing waitress. It was an hour or better before we saw food.

Here is a question - if the wait is long, what is the backup plan? - you don't want to miss the Wishes cruise. Nor do you want starving guests.

(I thought the burger was adequate. Nothing spectacular. Le Cellier's burger is much better and the Sci Fi's as good).

Give yourself a bit more time if you can because the place seems to be hopping almost non-stop. And be willing to eat at the counter or break your party up between tables if you want to be seated faster.

It has generally been .5 to .75 hour wait to be seated at Beaches for dinner, from our experience (we have been going since 2003). The burgers are really, really good, if you score it. I have had better on property (you would be surprised if I told you where), but the experience is worth it.

We go again in August. DD wants to go for her birthday in October. She was given any restaurant in the greater Orlando area. Go figure.

BTW, The onion rings on the burger are awesome!

What time in the evening does the line start to get really long? Should we try to get there before 5, before 6? We're going mid Dec., so maybe it won't be so bad.

they do have a takeout window - the menu is limited

according to allears.net - it is only ice cream to go - but I got the feeling when I was there - you could get more than that - someone else might know

We go to Beaches and Cream at least once each trip. We love it.

However, we usually go for a late lunch/early dinner. Usually around 4:30 p.m. - and the longest we have had to wait is about 20 minutes. I'm sure that between 5 and 6 p.m., the wait time will increase.

When we were there this past May, a family didn't want to wait and tried to order burgers from the take out window and were told that it was ice cream only.

At 6:00 you could be looking at a 30 to 45 minute wait, although it could be less. 6:00 would probably be ok, but maybe you should try and get there at 5:30, just to be safe.

Maybe we will just not go to Epcot or MGM that afternoon and go for a late lunch/early dinner like the poster above and arrive around 4:30, then we can take our time and if we finish early check out the resort. It is also close to the boardwalk isn't it. I would love to see that resort if we have time.

We have waited everywhere from 10 minutes (at 2 pm) to 95 minutes (at 8:50 pm). Seems to be very crowded at dinner times. At 11:45 am we were told there was a 2 hour wait, so we chose to go elsewhere.

For a backup plan..just to keep everyone from starving you could get food from the BC Marketplace.

They have really good sandwiches, salads, and clam chowder. They also have a pretty good dessert selection.

Backup options:

If you have park access, Epcot is a five minute walk away. You are really close to the fish and chips stop in England....Its a hike to get to the far end of the WS, but if you stick close to the international gateway....the fast food place in Morrocco is supposed to be good if you are a falafel and taboleh kind of person.

ESPN and Big River Grille at the Boardwalk don't take PSs and are sometimes easier to get into....but its about a ten minute walk.

Hurricane Hannahs has a limited B&C menu - eat by the pool.

The B&C marketplace that was mentioned might be a good option.

Given that you are on a tight schedule, my own recommendation would be to go to a venue that takes a PS - Cape May or Spoodles, and make the earliest possible dinner PS.
