How long of a trip?

So my sister just went to LA for a week to visit a friend. She was supposed to go down to Disneyland but never made it down. When she came home she said that she and I are going to make a trip to California to go to LA, Disneyland, and maybe San Francisco. So what my question is, how long should we make this trip? We're expert WDW travelers and know how to do that type of trip, but that's it. We never go to cities, we go to WDW where everything's right in one spot.

Also, I was thinking that we'd stay at DGC as DVC but would you suggest staying at Disneyland the whole time when we travel to LA? Obviously we'd get a different hotel if we go to San Francisco.

Oh and this trip won't be for a WHILE, I just love planning.

Most here would agree that three days is considered the minimum to get a solid DLR experience and four is better.

If you are spending more than a day in LA then I would stay in LA. If it is a day trip then staying at the GCH will work.
