We have ADR's for the CP at 8:10 on a non early entry morning. The park opens at 9:00. How long should we expect to be at the CP for our meal? I don't want to be sitting there with the park open b/c we're only going to be spending one day at the MK this time. I'm considering cancelling my ADR b/c of this reason. I thought if it only took 45 minutes or so, it would be fine. What do you think? Also, does the park really open at 9:00, or will it be 8:30 or 8:45?

We finished probably by 8:45 but did not see 2 charachters- but Dumbo was calling!
They held us at a rope drope at the castle!

Id keep the ADR as it was an awesome breakfast.

What time did you get there?

We usually average between 45 and 60 minutes for breakfast. Lunch and dinner seem to be 60-75 minutes.

You can leave whenever you are finished, but you might not get to see all the characters. Depending on where you luck out with your table and where the characters are in the restaurant when you get seated, it can take 45-75 minutes or so for all the characters to make the rounds to your table. I agree with the other posters though...it's an awesome breakfast and the interaction with the characters can't be beat!!

I can't say about breakfast but for lunch or dinner figure on spending an hour to 75 minutes for your meal. I just got back on May 8th and our ADR for 4:00pm so we went to dinner after watching the parade.:surfweb:

We always do a 8:05 am reservation and it takes us 30-40 minutes.....we will sit and drink our coffee until 9 am......

Ditto, a couple trips to the buffet, and the servers at CP are among the best in WDW. Once ya get done eating, enjoy your coffee till they drop rope at the castle, but you will miss the opening ceremony... if you have never seen it search on youtube for the videos.

It usually takes us about 30-45 min for breakfast there. It might take a bit longer if you want to see all the characters.

Well each of our plates were a little less than a foot wide. As I filled up each plate, ate what was on it and left it next to the last plate I ate...I guess when I finished my meal was about 10 feet long....:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
Sorry but that is what first came to my mind!!!:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

I have a question....if you finish breakfast before the rope drop do they send you back to the front of the park or can you walk around, up and down Main St?

No they don't send you back out. We always go inside the castle for the rope drop to Fantasyland when we're done at CP.

You stay on Main Street, all the other areas are roped off

Correct.
We have done 8:05 ADR at CP a few times and we are usually done by 8:45. I admit we have not waited for all the characters. Pooh is not our favorite... if we see Tigger and Eeyore...we are out of there!:goodvibes
it is great to be able to head out to the castle to take photos and wait for rope drop. We try to head to Space Mtn first.:yay:

Thanks for all the replies! :) You've talked me into keeping the ADR's. It sounds like it doesn't take very long. Do they usually get you in at your ADR time in the morning?

Breakfast has not taken us very long to eat , most of the time we are done and just drinking coffee while the kids wait for the characters. I would not miss it , even try to get there a little earlier maybe you can get a head start by being seated earlier ( if there's room of course)

I am so glad I saw this thread because I had been trying to decide between breakfast (which we have never done) and lunch (which we did the last time:yay: ) Is 8:00 the earliest ADR and can anyone tell me about what time they do the rope drop on a non EMH morning? And, in your opinion, are the opening ceremonies worth skipping out early on breakfast to see? Thanks so much!!!
