How Long is Your Longest Break from Going Back to Disney?

We go in July or Aug for 10-12 nights, then again right after Thanksgiving for 5-6 nights and the last two years we have made a long weekend trip in April-May. So usually 4-6 months between trips.

Hubby thinks every third vacation should be a non-WDW vacation.
But apparently DCL doesn't count since we are sailing away in less than a year...yahoo!
We seem to go about a year and a half between trips.

only because we own DVC we go every 6 months( MAY/ F&GF) AND (OCT / F&WF) now but soon to be every 4 months:crazy:

Since DVC, we never have longer than 13 months between trips. We are going 3 times this year, but after our December trip 2004, we wont be going back until Jan. 2006, so that will be a 13 month break. We do this about every 3rd year.

The last time we went was July 93 and we will not be going back until jan2005 so that is about 17 months I guess.

Looks more like 11 1/2 years to me Pa@okw.;)

I live in jersey and I dont remember any city living and what suburb are you moving to.I live down at the shore in ocean county. The whole state of jersey is a suburb coming from a guy who lived in the bronx for 26 years. Now that's the City. You can see from my dates how much I go.

Well, our last trip was in 11/03, and our next trip will be in 12/04...but after this trip I think we'll be going every 2 years. I'm trying to make the best use of our points, and hopefully work it so we can stay in a 1-bedroom on most trips. (For at least 10 nights!)

I wonder, are most people driving to WDW when they go 2+ times a year?? How does everyone manage to get down to FL that often? I'm amazed (and envious! Although, if I lived close enough to drive down, I'd probably go at least once a year!!)

Yep.....we drive 80% of the time. It's 16 hours one-way from Philly to Orlando. We only fly for short trips.

We use frequent flyer tickets almost exclusively.

We used to live in Manhattan, and moved to the other side of the river for a little more space and little less money. Now I live right outside of NYC in a town that is only the size of 1 square mile, and everthing is similar to NYC living, no real houses, just aprartments and condos, unless you have a lot of money to have a brown stone. No car is needed, everything is walkable, and it is really an extension of NYC in many ways. Most people live here because of the convenience to Manhattan. We rely on public transporatation (ferry, path train, or bus, are all within minutes to the city) to get to the city for work, play, and doctor visits, pretty much everything is there. To me, this is city living.

However, we are moving down to Monmouth County by Jersey shore close to where we used to live over many years ago:D This is a suburb where there are mostly all houses, yards, kids schools have play grounds (my daughter's current school goes to a nearby public park for recess), and you need cars to get to places, plus a much longer commute. This is a suburb.

It's been about once per year for us. Like others, we have been using at least 50% frequent flier miles (family of 4). However, as retirement nears we are looking forward to driving down from Rhode Island twice per year for 2 weeks each time.

We have ressies for next April, but having just booked the return repositioning cruise we are trying to rationalize going vs. renting the points this time to pay for it.

My guess is we'll end up going though!

Never more than 12 months. Thanksgiving keeps us coming back year in and year out....We usually go every 6 months, but next summer we're going be trading in some points for a NON-WDW trip next summer, so we'll be stretching the limits of our endurance.

I fly all the time when I go down. But I also do not have a family and it seems lately I go without my husband as well. Right now it is significantly cheaper for me to fly than drive, even if the air is about $300 (which it is usually around $200 on average). Not to mention saving my sanity with a flight instead of a 2 day drive

Up until now about every 6 mos. for the past 4-5yrs....this year it is looking like it will be 12 mons....:( :(

Though I keep planning non-DVC trips (making ressies with cheap codes) just in case we get to go.....but doesn't seem to work yet...
